Hi All,
Please help. I just updated the Geodirectory Plugin and now my site has this fatal error:Fatal error: Cannot redeclare geodir_get_post_meta() (previously declared in /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodir_payment_manager/geodir_payment_functions.php:1751) in /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/includes/post-functions.php on line 283
What do I do?
April 2, 2019 at 11:05 am #477458Hi Phoebe,
Are you updating from GDv1? If so please remove the payment manager plugin via ftp and then follow the rest of the instructions.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 2, 2019 at 11:17 am #477462Hi Stiofan,
I did that and now I’m gettingFatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function geodir_is_wpml() in /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodir_buddypress/includes/gdbuddypress_functions.php:1830 Stack trace: #0 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): geodir_buddypress_on_bp_loaded(”) #1 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #2 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(465): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-dependency.php(304): do_action(‘bp_loaded’) #4 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): bp_loaded(”) #5 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #6 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(465): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #7 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-settings.php(374): do_action(‘plugins_loaded’) #8 /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-config.php(91): require_once(‘/home/mumbling/…’) #9 / in /home/mumbling/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodir_buddypress/includes/gdbuddypress_functions.php on line 1830
April 2, 2019 at 11:38 am #477465Hi Phoebe,
You can remove all GDv1 addons manaully for now and then install the v2 addons before conversion. The conversion instructions ask to disable them v1 addons first but we will add checks for anyone in ur situation in future.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 2, 2019 at 12:02 pm #477468Good idea. I just ticked the update plugins on the wordpress dashboard so there was no instructions there. It definitely needs a warning for people like me who run updates automatically through the WordPress Dashboard not that go on to your website to download the update with the instructions.
Now I have to work out how to recover my site.
Thanks for your help
PhoebeApril 2, 2019 at 12:11 pm #477470Hi Phoebe,
I thought we had though of everything but obliviously not 🙂
I have just released ver 2.0.0.52 which will prevent those issues. If you install that all should be good.
If you need help with anything just let us know.
Thanks,
Stiofan
April 2, 2019 at 12:48 pm #477476It was ver2.0.0.52 that I tried to install direct through the WP Admin Dashboard – that’s the one that mucked up my site.
April 2, 2019 at 1:02 pm #477481Hi Phoebe,
It was likely 2.0.0.51, i only released 2.0.0.52 as a result of your post.

April 2, 2019 at 1:06 pm #477482Wow you are quick! We restored my site back one day and that’s the update that is available now so I assumed that is the one I used before.
So if I update to that now do I still have to follow all the steps to disable the addons and code snippets etc? Or will it update without this?April 2, 2019 at 1:53 pm #477486🙂
If you are updating from GDv1 then this is a major update and there is some manual steps required for things like layouts but you should not have the issues you had above.
Please see the upgrade instructions here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/upgrade-from-gdv1/Thanks,
Stiofan
