Custom field with plain value output

    Hi there,
    is there a way to output a custom field without any formatting? just the plain value?
    What does the option show=’value-strip’ exactly mean? Are there other options to remove all formatting?

    It all depends what custom field. Text and textarea fields for example will not show formatting.

    ’value-strip’ means that any HTML tags will be stripped, so links etc will not show.

    Thank you for you reply. Even the text field is wrapped in a div tag and some span for stylings.
    I need a custom field for a plain url so I can put the shortcode in some html code (i.e. a link).
    Any ideas on that?

    We do not have that output for Post Meta or any of the GD widgets, except for text and textareas as Guust mentioned.

    You should be able to create a URL custom field, and then use this shortcode:

    [gd_post_meta key=website css_class=siteclass]

    Replace “website” with the correct Field Key, and create a CSS class to make it look like the text before and after.
    Or add the before and after text like this:

    .siteclass::before {content: 'Visit our site at: '}
