Please help – I’ve set up a test “new user” – As the administrator I am not receiving notifications of new users to my account email. Neither am I, as the new user, receiving the new user passwords etc.

In addition, I’ve set new users as “contributors” as I thought this meant I would have to approve posts before they go live but they are showing on the site immediately. How do I set this up so that I need to approve listings before they go live?

    Thanks

    Hi,

you as administrator, are you receiving regular wordpress notifications? For example if someone leave a comment on a post or page? If not, than you have a mail server problem. (nothing to do with GeoDirectory)

Many users solved with alternative SMTP plugins. https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/search/?bbp_search=smtp

The setting to set new listings to draft is in GeoDirectory >> Design >> Listings >> New listing default status.

    Thanks

Thanks, draft listings are now working.

I’ve installed another SMTP plugin as suggested and now the new user is getting emails no problem but I’m not receiving notifications of new users as the admin user. Is there something I’m supposed to tick somewhere?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

emails are sent to the email in Settings >> General option page of WordPress, not to admins.

If your email is different from the main website email, you could try a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bcc-everything/

I’m sure there is another one a member mentioned recently, that has been tested and works, but I can’t find it.

Let us know if this one is the final solution.

    Thanks
