My website is based on one single location and I’m creating a directory of businesses. Rather than have the category for “restaurants” located in the subdirectory, I’m wondering if there is a way to show/embed directory pages into the base level pages?

    Going from this:
    https://example.com/places/category/restaurants/

    To this:
    https://example.com/restaurants

It seems as long as you don’t have other pages on your site sharing the same slug it should be doable somehow… just not sure how.

    Hi Rob Jackson,

Thanks for your post. There isn’t an option that allows you to achieve this out of the box. You can possibly try using 3rd party plugins like https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-permalinks/ and see if it helps.
