How to output list of events?

Which shortcode do I need to use in order to output a list of events on a page?
– next 5 upcomming events
– independent from event category

(I used the shortcode [gd_listings post_type=”gd_event” event_type=”upcoming” title_tag=”h2″ post_limit=”5″] but it returned only one event with its recurring dates, not all events where considered.)
