Hello, I have a problem. It seems I don’t understands how the search is working. I want the search to be able to work if you write the city name. I have added listings as places. I have added category to them. I want to be able to search them as I wrote the name of city of their location. Like for example http://йога.бг/places/софия-1/шива/. I want to be able this listing to appear in search results if you search for “софия” or “sofia”. I don’t know how to switch from Latin to Cyrillic if it’s necessary to be only in one alphabet. Also when I wrote the exact name of the place still the result doesn’t show it.

I really want this site works in Cyrillic if it’s possible.

    Any suggestions?

I hope the problem is not in the Cyrillic characters.

    My page is: http://йога.бг/
It’s in a developing stage now, but I turned off the under construction plugin function so that you can check it.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi nanera,

Thanks for your post. I can’t seem to access your Website to check out your GD search form. Maybe you can temporarily lift the restrictions?

You have hidden the near search field on the search bar, so, the remaining field, ‘search for’ will only search titles/description/tags/categories.

It seems to be working fine when I search for the title of that listing in Cyrlic

    Thank you, my bad.
One more thing. If I search in a city, no matter if I write in latin or cyrillic and no need to select from the drop down locations in the data base. I’m getting the right result. But if I want to search in the country (Bulgaria) I need to chose from the drop down location because I’m getting no results. Why is that?

    I’m attaching 4 screenshots.

Please share URLs for those so we can check on them.

Near search will search from the “center” so, Near Bulgaria will be searching from the center of the country.

    Hello Alex,

So this link doesn’t show the result:
    http://йога.бг/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=%D1%88%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B8&snear=bulgaria&sgeo_lat=42.733883&sgeo_lon=25.485829999999964

But this one is showing the result:
    http://йога.бг/search/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=%D1%88%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B8&snear=&sgeo_lat=&sgeo_lon=&country=bulgaria

In general I wrote Bulgaria in the “near” field, but on the second search I choose from the drop down menu, when I was writing Bulgaria.

Maybe I have to adjust “Search near radius” in settings.

    Yes Alex,

Thank you that you told me Near Bulgaria will search in the center of the country so when I edit the “Search near radius” in the settings the result is right as I needed.

Now both links above give same results as I want.

    Thank you for your time.

I there any way to escape this double search bar? When I use this one that I have set from Widgets > GD Top > GD Search and it redirects me to the result page I see one more search bar just above the results.

Any way to be only the one the GT Top or it’s necessary to be both. I think I can hide it with CSS.

Mm..double search bar. You should be able to remove any search bar from either a template or widgets. Try editing the template for the page.

    Glad you got it working!
