Just changing the URLs where you did, does not change all references in the database.
    Please review this: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

Actually, that’s not the problem. My database has been updated, and I am still having the same issue. I think it is because the sign-in is directing to the site URL (thesweetfest.com) and the sign out is directing to the wordpress URL (sweetfest-apps.com). I think for it to work there needs to be some consistency between the sign in and sign out.

Is there a way to change the code for this?

You mean you have 2 different domain names at Settings > General > WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) ?
    That will never work …

Yes…I have 2 different domains. Why won’t it work? Why can’t I have them sign in & out on the WordPress URL but have that redirect to the site URL after the sign in/out process is over?

I realize there is a disconnect which is causing the issue b/c currently the user is signing in on one and attempting to sign out on the other. Are you saying it is not possible to force the sign in/out processes to be on the same URL?

The domains at Settings > General > WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) have to match where where your files are.

You should move everything under the new domain and create a 301 redirect for the old domain pointing to the new domain.

This is the correct way to do this kind of things.

If your website is visible under 2 different domains, Google will see them as duplicate and penalize them.

    Thank you
