Post Type Category Limit

    Hi,

    I’m creating a package that allows me to select up to 100 categories within a post type in order to have all of the categories show in the category search window.

    I would like to know if there is a number limit set somewhere that I can extend, as I am finding that I am not able to select and show as many categories as I have.

    I belive that the field that stores categories is a text field and so is limited to 255 characters. I have asked the developers if there is a workaround and if there is they will let us know.

    In the past we have seen as many as 60 or so categories before hitting the limit. You might say “Up to 50 categories” or something like that, depending on how many characters in your category names.

    Now I need to know if I can hide the listing with the complete categories and still have the categories show in the search categories field.
