I understand the -# slugs, but is there a way to eliminate on a fresh build?

I’m rebuilding on V2 from a new install, all from scratch, nothing uploaded, migrated, etc.

Under events I had changed “Music” to something else, continued building out categories, and then later decided to break “Performing Arts” back out into 3 categories.

Since the “music” slug doesn’t actually exist anywhere, how can I clear it from the database to revert “music-1” back to “music?”

    Cheers

    Hi there,

Thanks for your post. You can refer to this section of the documentation https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/why-do-my-locations-get-a-1-at-the-end/ that explains more about this.

    Excellent, that helped, thanks!

Turns out there was a sample tag already with “music” as the slug.

Sure this is more of a WP issue than a GD, but as I see the posts, pages, and category URLs being “primary,” it would be nice if tag URL’s could be structured to auto-append a character or word:

    music-tag
    music-t
    etc.

Doesn’t completely eliminate the potential issue, but at least helps downgrade the impact, especially when tags or something that may be turned on for any user to create.

    Cheers
