GD version: 2.0.0.67
WP version: 5.2.4
Supreme Directory Version: 2.0.0.9
Directory Starter Version: 2.0.0.8I have setup the parent menu as “Page” & it has child Menu as “Page”.
The Parent Menu is not clickable. Is it rendering a “#” because of the child menu?
Please suggest what needs to be done.
Thanks / ManishOctober 16, 2019 at 3:36 pm #513402Yes, that is correct. Parent items should not have a link destination or else they would trigger reload instead of exposing the sub-menu items.
October 16, 2019 at 3:44 pm #513409But my parent menu doesn’t have a custom link, so why is it not working then?
Drop down menus not only work through child menu. Is it?
Please suggest a solution.October 16, 2019 at 3:48 pm #513412You can see the expected behavior with the add listing link here:

October 16, 2019 at 4:28 pm #513425Alex, you are not understanding. # is added to the parent menu to make it ‘UNCLICKABLE’ and not the other way.
I want to make my Parent menu clickable so that it can take me to the page it is meant for.Can this be done?
October 16, 2019 at 4:33 pm #513429It won’t be clickable in the subnav context because it is acting as a ‘go back’ function. It’s not possible to change that without a customization. I recommend you make it unclickable. That is the expected ‘UI pattern’.
October 16, 2019 at 4:38 pm #513433So I can safely believe that the theme is not designed for this.
And it’s already unclickable.. I don’t understand why are you recommending it.
October 16, 2019 at 4:42 pm #513437It is clickable in desktop and mobile when the parent menu is viewed, at least for me it is. The parent item is only not clickable when it is viewed in mobile within the subnav menu.
If it was clickable in the subnav, there would be no way to return to the parent nav.

Me: So that means , it works, theme is also designed for this and is certainly not the expected UI pattern. You are making contradictory statements, Alex. Now tell.me, what should I do so that it works for me too? Suggest something.
Alex wrote: The parent item is only not clickable when it is viewed in mobile within the subnav menu.
Me: This is the expected behaviour and logical too. And I never mentioned this as the issue faced by me.
Alex: If it was clickable in the subnav, there would be no way to return to the parent nav.
Me: Again, expected & logical.

Can you send a screenshot that includes the hover URL?
I can’t see this on your site or the demo.
October 16, 2019 at 5:19 pm #513459Sending you both GD & Non GD pages in my Main menu.
GD Pages – Account(Page) & Profile (Custom Link)
Non GD Pages – Submit an Article(Page) & Blog(Page)See the Menu structure screenshot too-
October 16, 2019 at 5:31 pm #513465The parent items become unclickable once logged in.
I will ask the developers to take a look at the behavior and let us know.
October 16, 2019 at 5:37 pm #513468Even when you are logged out & Click the Parent Menu, in my case , Submit an Article, it should take me to myurl/submit-an-article/.
Instead, it doesn’t click & pick the link from Child(Blog) & takes you to myurl/blog/
Please check this without logging in.
