How can a user edit their existing listing? I saw somewhere that on the Add Listing page there is supposed to be a link to edit a listing. I don’t see it, can’t find it, and can’t find any documentation about editing a listing. Site is MichiganSeniorsHealthAndWealth.com
Thanks,
Ted Lang
[email protected]November 5, 2019 at 8:18 pm #516060Hi Ted,
Thanks for your post. With the GD > Dashboard, users can edit it’s listings as explained here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/account-management/#gd_dashboard
November 5, 2019 at 9:53 pm #516074Also try adding GD Author Actions widget to your details page sidebar. That will show the listing owner the edit link.
November 8, 2019 at 5:45 pm #516453I cannot get this to work. Placing this element on a page shows the dashboard with two fields: one to select the CPT, and another to select “My Listings”. But, the field to select a listing does not work. It shows no listings. So, what am I doing wrong? How do I let a user edit their listings?
Thank you.
Ted LangNovember 8, 2019 at 5:46 pm #516454Alex,
Yes, the Author Actions links show up in the sidebar on the details page. So, that helps if the author is looking at that particular listing. But, that doesn’t help much because how would a user know to go to the listing detail page to edit the listing? Probably wouldn’t. So, how can I create a link somewhere (preferably in the main menu or on a page) that goes directly to a page where the author can select one of his listings to edit? I cannot get the Authors Actions element to show up anywhere except the details page sidebar. I have also tried the gd_dashboard element, but it does not show any listings.
Thanks,
Ted LangNovember 8, 2019 at 5:55 pm #516455I would also like to have the tabs show up in a user’s profile. However, when I add the element [uwp_profile_tabs] to the profile page,a tabs box shows up in the profile with 3 dots and a black circle with the number 2 in it. But nothing else shows up and clicking on these does nothing. How do I get the tabs to show up correctly?
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. Could you please share your Website WP admin access here in private reply so that we could check on it?

Listings are showing up in the profile only as a number. I.E. Locations 6 Events 10 Invoices 6 Senior Housing 6
But none of these are links to those items. I can see there are 6 Senior Housing posts, but cannot link to them, so a user still cannot edit a listing. So this has not changed.
And, I don’t know what you mean by “I have changed the shortcode for the profile to show the header area navigation as well.”
What shortcode has changed? Where can I see that shortcode? And, where is the header area navigation? I don’t see any difference and don’t know how to see any difference for the profile shortcode. Can you please explain. Thank you.November 11, 2019 at 9:34 am #516572This reply has been marked as private.November 11, 2019 at 11:01 am #516588Hi,
I can see that the profile tabs are displayed for a second and then removed automatically. This can be due to Javascript conflicts as there might be some JS code that removes these tabs. It can be by theme or plugin but to check we need to switch theme and enable/disable plugins one by one. If you have any staging site then provide us the admin and FTP details in private reply so that we can test there without affecting your live site and the users. Also, We don’t recommend to use the GDBooster plugin for GDV2 instead you can use other caching plugin like W3 Total Cache or Super Cache.

We will need FTP details in private reply as well to troubleshoot from the code level. We can’t switch the theme on your live site as reverting it may be difficult so we suggested staging site. Your hosting provider can help to create the staging site easily if they provide such things or you may hire a developer to do that.
