Whoop Child Theme Footer Copyright Edit

Hello,

Using all V2 stuff with Whoop theme:

I am confused why there isn’t a simple copyright text editing option like the GDF theme. Using the Code Snippet routine to modify copyright generates errors so I don’t want to utilize that… plus it seems like these types of workarounds add complexity and bulk to the site. Can you tell me what functions.php file (I believe it is the functions.php in the Whoop theme folder) needs to be modified and the code to change? I am new to PHP programming but proficient enough in HTML to make the changes.

I am brand new to WordPress but I know CSS and HTML. Why a parent/child theme paradigm for Whoop? Couldn’t Whoop be a parent theme so we could eliminate all the parent/child bulk?
