Hi there,
I’m just getting started testing the integration with Elementor Pro theme builder.
I’m starting with the detail template for places and the meta keys work great for dynamic content but I can’t figure out what’s going on with the Featured image.
As I’m building it, I can see the featured image in the Elementor preview:
But if I save it and test it on a place, the featured image doesn’t show up:
What’s weird is that if I use the same template for a regular standard post, the featured image works so that means there’s no problem with the template, it doesn’t seem to be able to retrieve the featured image for a Place. Any ideas?
Thanks.

to access images for GD Listings you will want to use the GD Post Images shortcode in an Elementor Shortcode widget.
February 20, 2020 at 3:25 pm #531425So you’re saying that GD isn’t compatible with the Elementor PRO theme builder?
That’s a disappointment, using shortcodes for images doesn’t give the flexibility that we can have using background images with Elementor.
But did you see on my screenshot that the featured image shows up as I’m in the theme builder, if it shows up there, I’m wondering why it’s not showing up on the front end.
Anybody else using Elementor + GD who would have experienced the same problem?
February 20, 2020 at 8:23 pm #531468The page builder works with GD shortcodes, and so does the theme builder. GD is compatible and Elementor pages and themer layouts. Neither will break when used accordingly.
Accessing GD fields and files through Elementor settings is a deeper integration that we have started. It is, for example, possible to access the value of a custom field by entering the field key prefixed with ‘geodir’. We have also developed similar integrations with Beaver Themer and a builder integration for Avada. More integrations are planned for the future.
I will take up your idea as a feature request and the developers will consider adding additional image and file support in the future.
For now, if you would like to share credentials and WP Admin we can look into the feature image example on your site. It may be a quick fix, but we would need to take a look.
Please also provide a link to the template edit page and instructions or a screenshot to show us which element we should check.

No need to waste your time looking into my setup since it’s probably not a quick fix. I don’t think you’re actually using the Featured image in the standard WP way, that’s probably why. I’m just wondering how Elementor manages to pull it during the preview, I’ve asked them and will let you know if any relevant information is to be shared.
February 21, 2020 at 2:05 pm #531601Hi klaggy,
Geodirectory is perfectly coded in wp way.
Geodirectory provide a feature to edit single place page layout using a common page template “GD detail”.
It could be a conflict with elementor block and place detail page.
I will see if I can reproduce the issue on my end.Regards
NaveenFebruary 27, 2020 at 8:02 am #532516Hi klaggy,
GD Detail template is used for all the GD single detail posts. In Elementor Preview it uses post ID of the template because it has no real GD listing post ID there. But when you visit GD Listing Detail page it uses the listing post ID to render the content from listing detail template.
On detail page listing has own featured media, so it does not show featured media of the template.
Let us know.
Regards,
Kiran -
