Good Day
We are experiencing the following problems with Geo Directory and would like to know if there is a way to fixing these urgently.
1. When clicking on a listing it redirects back to the homepage, but it shows the listing URL (http://www.findcars4sale.co.za/?gd_dealerships/south-africa/kwazulu-natal/pietermaritzburg/new-used-cars=trurays-quality-cars/)
2. The URL link is not allowing the website to pick up on google (http://www.findcars4sale.co.za/?gd_dealerships/south-africa/kwazulu-natal/pietermaritzburg/new-used-cars=trurays-quality-cars/)
-the gd needs to be removed.
3. Since we installed the directory plugins our website and homepage doesnt get picked up on google. Please can i get these errors sorted out as we really enjoy this plugin and it works for us but its just the small things that doesnt work.
September 23, 2015 at 2:14 pm #542081. You need to set your permalinks to postname:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#postnames2. Same as 1
3. Was it an existing website? Did you set Search Engine Visibility correctly at Settings > Reading?
September 23, 2015 at 2:41 pm #54211Hi
2. Our Permalinks are set as default, it only recently stopped working.
3. The site was existing and was picking up before.
please test the website http://www.findcars4sale.co.za
September 23, 2015 at 5:13 pm #54228Hi John,
GeoDirectory cann’t work with permalinks set as default. Permalinks must be set to /%postname%/.
I can assure you that with default pemalinks it could never work since version 1.0.
Thanks
September 23, 2015 at 6:47 pm #54249i have put it back as the post as requested and then i got this error
Not Found
The requested URL /dealerships/south-africa/kwazulu-natal/pietermaritzburg/new-used-cars/trurays-quality-cars/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

after saving permalinks, did it alert to manually change your .htsccess file?
If you provide admin credentials we will have a look and check directly all your settings.
Let us know,
Thanks

September 24, 2015 at 3:50 pm #54381This reply has been marked as private.September 24, 2015 at 7:02 pm #54420Hi,
I’m getting access denied. All you need to do is to ask to your server admin to make the .htaccess file writable from the server. Permissions 755 or 777.
Or after saving your permalinks, copy the rules provided and paste them on your htaccess file and save it.
If you don’t have an .htaccess file you can manully create it.
Otherwise please provide correct credentials for us to access your FTP.
Thanks
