Hi
I want to translate the create listing page that uses the shortcodes
[gd_notifications]
[gd_add_listing show_login=1]I have enabled strings in the geodirectory plugin & package addon using wpml but when i search for the strings in the screen shot like ‘packages’ and ‘Full Listing: Unlock all benefits’ nothing comes ups.
Where do i find these strings?
Kind regards
April 25, 2020 at 5:37 pm #542518You have WPML String translation?
If not you can use the PO files for each plugin but if you are just using the main site language you can do a lot in the custom fields settings, too.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/custom/
‘Packages’ for example can be translated in the PO file or in the Custom Fields settings .

If it comes down to it and you need to translate custom fields then you will also need:
April 26, 2020 at 1:04 am #542593Hi Alex
Yes I am using WPML String translation. I have scanned for strings in the GD main plugin and the pricing manager (see screen shot).
I found the word package can be translated by searching for the custom field in WPML (see screen shot). Once enabled I was able to change that word (screen shot).
But my problem is that I cant find what I need to enable in strings to translate my two package names (screen shot).
What do you suggest?
Kind regards
April 26, 2020 at 1:08 am #542597Hi again
it seems I am trying to do what was asked in this post in 2016: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/translating-package-names-descriptions/
was this ever implemented?
Kind regards
April 27, 2020 at 3:37 am #542704Hi
This is the issue I am having.
For example (see screen shot) I have made a features multi select box for hotels on my listing. This has 10+ features. Currently I am writing these features and titles etc in the listing fields in both languages. This is generally ok but for the features in particular it will look a little messy on the front end.
There appears to be no strings (that I can find) to translate these in WPML. What’s the recommended way to approach translating these fields?
Kind regards
April 27, 2020 at 4:17 am #542707sorry one more thing. I also can not find strings or the area to translate the names of cities, regions & neighbourhoods in the location manager.
I have added the strings in WPML but the names do not appear when I scan for them.

I have applied patch on your site. I run tool from GeoDirectory > Status > DB Text Translation. Now you can find those texts in WPML > String Translation.

1. Will the patch be overridden in any furture update or will it come with the future update?
Don’t worry about future updates, because patch already will be in next updates.
—
2. Will these names now be strings I can search for?
You can search these strings at WPML > String Translation.
Let us know.

April 28, 2020 at 10:10 am #543066Hi diggerdog,
If you asking about translation of neighbourhoods, city & region values then it is not possible. You can translate country names but not neighbourhoods, city & region.
Thanks,
KiranApril 28, 2020 at 10:15 am #543067Hi Kiran
Thanks for clearing that up. Is it safe to rename cities & neighbourhoods with out messing anything up? If it is then I will rename and use both languages.
Kind regards
April 28, 2020 at 10:29 am #543068Regions, cities & neighbourhoods names can be used only one language. You can’t use same region name in different language with translation.

April 28, 2020 at 10:59 am #543073What I meant was, for example:
current neighbourhood name is ‘London’
I will edit it and rename it to – ‘ロンドン・London’So it is only one name but contains both languages if you see what I mean.
April 28, 2020 at 11:52 am #543082Yes, you can use this way.
I meant it will show ‘ロンドン・London’ in all languages. 🙂
Thanks,
Kiran -
