    Good day. I have an issue with my site. Places dont show up on search engines for searches like: ” restaurants in lagos nigeria” or ” top restaurants in ibadan”. Those are cities in Nigeria.
    Is there a way To correct these error to rank fo these places. My site only ranks for place archives, restaurant archives nigeria, hotel archives lagos,etc..
    Pls, what do i have to do. I have installed yoast seo but how do i proceed. Or is there a different way to get this done. Thank you.

    Hi,

    SEO isn’t as easy. For keywords like “restaurants in lagos nigeria”, big website like Trip Advisor and other travel and food realted website are stable in page one.

    You’ll need to do a lot of offsite work to get to even rank in the 1st 10 pages of google. It will probably require years of work to get near the 1st page.

    You should try focusing on easier keywords.

    In GeoDirectory >> Title and metas you can alter all page titles and metas.

    Thanks. with wpseo installed, can i still make changes in gd titles and metas. And what kind of variable will i use or change to have a place caetegory title LIKe i earlier mentioned: “restaurants in …. location|sitename” instead of “place archives|sitename”

    All the location vars should be usable in wpseo, if you are having problems pleas egive exaple pages of the problems and also please confirm you are not using a beta version of WP?

    Thanks for the reply. The vars didn’t work with yoast seo and search engines not picking it.
    For example, used-
    Top %%term_title%% %%in_location%% %%sep%% %%sitename%% for place categories meta

    but search engines only picked-
    Top %%term_title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

    without showing the location name. So instead of “top hospitals in miami:Sitename” I get “top hospitals:sitename”.
    Am I missing a detail. And what is the differnce btw these variables: %%location%%, %%in_location%%, %%in_location_single%%, %%location_single%%. Thank you.

    I am not using the beta version of yoast seo. However, just updated from 2.2 to 2.3.5
