Buddypress addon error – not activating

I have installed the buddypress addon, uploaded, activated and the plugin says active, but now what? There is no link in the Geo directory for Buddypress and I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but nothing other than this error message:

The plugin generated 532 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

Not sure where to go next. Also I had to reinstall the Lists plugin that was giving an error that I needed to install post2post – which I did. Not sure if it is working. I also have another support post elsewhere about the select checkbox not working – are these errors all related.

I am running WP 4.3.1 om Avada and Linux C-Panel
