Ok. Well they obviously are not all in the same folder… These are listings that have been imported gradually over a 3 year period. And for 500+ listings, it’s not good time management to re-upload all the images AND edit them all in the spreadsheet either when an export/import process exists.
So I think I will need to figure out how to use the full URL on these imported listings. How is that accomplished? How do I get the import function to read the full address of the image? If this option doesn’t work (and in my attempts it has not), it seems there’s some work to be done on the import process. Can you bring in a developer to help with this?
Any other ideas on this? I can’t ask the client to re-upload all of their images…
November 19, 2019 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Category search list as checkboxes instead of dropdown #517791THANK YOU so much! 😉
I tried that… just removing the part of the URL and leaving the file name, but that had the same results. Featured image shows only in admin. No additional images are added.
So, one final issue (fingers crossed) – it didn’t import the images correctly. It put an image in the “featured image” location in the admin, but it doesn’t show on the front end of the site at all. And when I had multiple images, it seemed to only grab the one…
I copied the “post_images” column exactly from my places table into my restaurants CPT table.
Oh THANK YOU! I assumed what I needed to do was change the post type on the existing IDs, not create new listings. Now I understand and it works!

The site is live and gets too much traffic to leave the search functions broken for any amount of time.
Again, here is the issue. I set up the GD Search PAGE with Beaver Builder and it breaks the GD search. (See first screenshot – only the search page title but no results show.)
If I set up the Beaver Builder THEAMER Search template (see second screenshot), the GeoDirectory search works and looks as I want it to, BUT the main site search breaks – the search term I put into the menu search gets moved to the Geo search sidebar, but that’s not what we want at all. (See third screenshot.)
We NEED to keep the overall site search functional because the client wants visitors to be able to use the search in the menu bar to search everything – including blog posts and other pages that are not part of the directory.
I cleared the cache after every change during this testing… and it did not help.
So, ideally either the Beaver Builder would work on the GD Search PAGE. OR the Beaver Builder Themer options would include an option for GD Search that ONLY applied to the GeoDirectory searches like the page does.
If you’re testing on our site, feel free to go to the GD Search page and activate the Beaver Builder and/or go to the Beaver Themer and set the Search Themer Layout to show on the “Search Results” page. But please after testing (if it’s not fixed) set things back to the way I have them so the site isn’t out of order for long.
Still hopeful that we can find a solution to this! Thank you for your help!

November 14, 2019 at 7:01 pm in reply to: Category search list as checkboxes instead of dropdown #517191As I mentioned, I tried it within the Beaver Themer, but then the regular search doesn’t work. I still NEED the regular search to work with blog posts and other non-Geodirectory parts of our website.
When I do use the Beaver Themer to set this up, it searches fine only within the GeoDirectory, but the overall site search gets completely disabled… This shouldn’t happen. I’m sure that’s why there’s a separate page template in your default pages for GD-Search. How do I apply some styles to just the GD Search? If I can’t do it in Beaver Builder or Beaver Themer, can you suggest another way to get the search to the left like it is on our Events page: https://vacationokoboji.com/events/?
November 14, 2019 at 3:16 pm in reply to: Category search list as checkboxes instead of dropdown #517143Ok. I have one more issue with this search. I’m trying to move our search to the left on the search results page as well, but when I convert the page to Beaver Builder, it breaks. (Shows no search results at all only the page title and then white space.)
I’ve tried setting up a search results page in the Beaver Themer, but when I do this, it doesn’t show results for the regular site search – which we need to keep as well. Can you help me figure out why I can’t change the page layout for this page with Beaver Builder? It works for everything I’ve tried except the search page…
November 14, 2019 at 2:24 pm in reply to: Category search list as checkboxes instead of dropdown #517134I think I finally found the combination that accomplishes this… Uncheck “show in main search bar” in the Event settings > Search. Then Use the shortcode [ gd_search post_type_hide=”1″ customize_filters=”always”]
