Hello,
Please do take time to try out V2 with Location Manager and Advanced Search. We look forward to your feedback.
This reply has been marked as private. With V2 also yes the “Places” menu link can have the location ‘set’ so that the menu item is redirected to the URL like site.com/CPT/country/region/city
The “View All” is a search page in that case, which is the only way to show the ‘distance to’ information.
Excellent! 🙂
A free package is just like any other package, listed on the settings at:
GeoDirectory – Prices and Payments – Prices – (Edit)
If you don’t see a free package you can create a new package and give it a price of 0 to make it free.
Each rice package has a unique row and can be hidden with CSS. When each package is selected it also has a custom URL. Keep the URL handy for when you need it, and then hide the free package row with CSS.
Something like this:
.geodir_price_package_1 {display: none;}But then customize that with the number of the price package you want to hide.
(+Categories) If you want more ‘landing/listing’ pages then more Categories is the way to go.
(+Categories) Maps and Widgets are filtered with categories.
(+Categories) Can have Top Description and Top Description + Location
Those are all big wins (+Categories)
Excellent! 🙂
Text strings ca be changed by translating the plugin or theme.
You will have the most success if you translate the core plugin, plus Directory Starter theme and Supreme child theme.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/translation/overview/
That string is probably in Supreme child.
OK, lots of styles come with the theme then, and they are being inherited by the GD tabs.
We will try to recreate with Genesis.
With V2 there is the option to have a city location ‘set’ when the user lands on a Detail page (also) as opposed to only when they choose a location from the location switcher or land on a location page.
About your question, I am not sure I understand what you are getting at with the URL. Could you clarify more what you are trying to achieve?
This reply has been marked as private. We get this question about Posts 2 Posts a lot; basically it is a simple plugin that hasn’t needed updates.
I think the case is the same for BuddyPress Follow but I haven’t tried it. We recommend UsersWP instead of BuddyPress: https://userswp.io
August 27, 2018 at 9:27 am in reply to: Managed to turn off map and turn on extra search windows, sigh #444160Hello,
In trying to reduce the prominence of the map, I managed to turn it off. I also somehow added a second, unnecessary set of search windows identical to the ones on the home page. (Right below the first ones if you scroll down).
I would like to, if possible, delete that second set of search windows and turn the map back on but just have it be one of those windows you can click on in the detailed version of the listings:
Profile/Map/Related Views, etc.Maps on Home, Listing, and Location pages are controlled with Widgets, unless you are using Supreme in which case it is built into the theme and cannot be turned off. If you want to tun it back on, add the Hoe Map Widget to a Hoe widget area or a Listing map to a Listing or Search widget area. If you have disabled the map or categories you might need to enable them in GeoDirectory – Design – Map
I basically want people to input the name of a place, and go right there, since I am only using one category of place. I’m trying to get as simple-looking of an interface as needed; no extra icons, categories, etc. I want people to focus on the reviews. I tried and failed to get rid of “popular categories” completely; it shows up after you search for a place.
To hide popular categories see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-remove-the-popular-categories-section-from-the-home-page/
To hide search fields try: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-styling-examples/#search-fieldAlso I don’t think I need a location page because I already have the home page; can I remove it?
The Location pages cannot be turned off; perhaps just don’t create additional links to them.
If there are specifics here, we would be happy to check your settings. It often works best to try these one at a time. Feel free to make a private reply with your site URL and admin credentials. Tell us which issues you still need help with and we will keep at it until you get where you want to go.
If you are looking for advanced sharing options or configuration we recommend trying out 3rd party plugins. There are so many to choose from and that have many more configuration options as well as styling settings.
Hello,
you should contact Google Tag manager, then, and ask them what changes need to be made to the code to make those elements/items display in their interface as you wish. Is it a change in the admin field name? Once you find that out bring it back here and we can take a look.
We don’t perform customizations here in the forum, but if you need hands on help you can contact an expert here: http://geodirectoryexperts.com
