OK, please make a private reply to share your admin credentials and url and we can take a look.
Have you also taken a look at the widgets, by the way?
October 13, 2017 at 10:44 am in reply to: change "popular categories" into "main categories" #400430Ah, ok. Yes, this one is part of the theme. I see you have already deactivated all the optional widgets that are similar.
You can go the translation route, but this feature can be easily hidden, and then you could make another to replace it.
Line 442 here is where the code for the section starts. You could hard code a replacement.

It starts with this :<div class=”geodir-category-list-in clearfix”>
Better workarounds will be available with V2, release TBD, but work is well under way.

I’m not sure we are talking about the same things.
There should be a Widget called Popular Categories, and you should be able to change the title of it right there in the widget options.
Let me know what you find
I’m sorry, I assumed you had already looked at your options on the Widgets page.
Have you already looked there for what you can do?
If that won’t work, your other option is to go through translations.
Hello!
Are their widgets showing in the sidebar?
Take a look here and see if any of these options can help:

Hi Gene!
We just took a look at your site. I want to refer you to the setup documentation.
On this page you can read about how to get your site setup to make the most of the GD plugin features.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/
A couple things I want to point out:
Create categories
Every listing needs a category or it won’t show on the map. Create the categories you want to feature in your GeoDirectory before you create the listing.Use the CPT
It looks like you want to use a Restaurant and maybe a Hotel CPT. Great! Get those setup first. You can export your Places and re-import them into Restaurants, that might be a good next step, once you have your categories (like “Restaurant”) setup.Use a Schema
Want to have great SEO? Try selecting the appropriate schema for each category. You will find that at the bottom of the category property page. The docs were written as a step by step guide to setup each aspect of your directory. Take a look and let us know how it goes!
You might also check this to see if it meets your needs:

Hello!
Did you want to add a custom field to every Place detail page?
Or perhaps just add a Text widget into that GD Detail Bottom Section?
Try those out and let us know!
October 13, 2017 at 8:18 am in reply to: main menu " add listing" link extends down the page #400387Hello!
That’s really neat how you made so many CPTs.
Changing the field type render is customization, but there might be an easier customization you can do yourself with a css text widget to make a custom link. Perhaps something like this:
