if we have the listing on the target site and don’t have any content on the source site, just a link in their preexisting dashboard – trying not to duplicate here – that would mean we can don’t have to do the importing?

They should manage their listing on the ‘source’ site, primarily because changes to the ‘target’ site will be overwritten when updates are imported. if we have the listing on the target site and don’t have any content on the source site, just a link in their preexisting dashboard – trying not to duplicate here – that would mean we can don’t have to do the importing.

I have the full geodirectory package, so then they would be able to manage from the front end?

GD includes a “Dashboard” function so they can login and find and edit their listings. You can use the “author” field in the listing to assign the listing to the login of the staff member. Users must be promoted to the ‘author’ role first before they can be assigned a listing in the backend. There is also a plugin “Claim Manager Addon” that can facilitate that from the frontend.

Further, be sure to add the Loginbox widget to help your users with navigation on the ‘source’ site to find and edit their listings.

https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#loginboxI think this might be a bit tricky as their ‘dashboard’ contains other features such as training and financial information so hopingg to have it from a single dashboard.
    Also, what’s CPT

Thanks so much for your help. So Alex, would it be better to host on the general public site and then just have a link to each staff profile on the staff member’s dashboard for updates? The staff site is simply where they manage all their activity. Does that sound feasible?
