Thanks I found it with the link you provided as help.
All these .po files spread out makes it really confusing tbh. Some changes for the core needs to be made inside external plugins, and the changes done in plugin/geodirectory/geodirectory-languages doesn’t apply everywhere.
The latest update with geodirectory somehow deleted my translations inside the language folder in the plugin.
Thanks.
Yes I tried updating the plugins but got an error.
However upon looking further into this I realized that the add-listing page was actually in the trash. Somehow it ended up there. I restored it and it works now.
Please take a look at my other topic regarding the error message received when updating my plugins.

I guess I’m not going to get help with anything since you don’t help without updated plugins. I should just stop writing in these forums :/
Some of those fields, yes. Region/Zipcode is available for translation there but not City/country/etc.
I edited the .po files in the multilocations but it didn’t help.
Yes indeed, but if you read the link you will see that I cannot easily update them as all my changes will be gone when they are updated since the lack of customization in GD.
I understand the policy though and will have to get back to you when I finally manage to get a week or 2 off to update the website.

I took no disrespect and I hope you didn’t either, because that was really not the case and I hope you weren’t offended.
For the record; I have the same amount of experience in css/html/etc as in php.
The thing is about all those things is that when I first installed the geodir-framework I tried getting on the forums to ask questions but back then you had to pay loads of money to even get into the forums. I don’t think I could even make the account. Seeing that you had to pay to get support for a plugin that was pretty much money I just made the customizations for my client as needed and left it at that. I’m not sure why and when you changed this but now that I’m in the forums I’d love to report bugs and all that. I just haven’t had the chance before.
And since you charge for every little thing you want to add to the framwork it made me not so keen to report bugs either. I started with the framwork thinking it would all be fine, then ended up paying for 5 more plugins that I thought were included :/.
Enough about all that. To answer your questions:
1. I saw recent fixes about this in the comments around the code, so this has been a problem before. The domain in question was “.coop”.
2. Paying $45 for a plugin that makes this simple customization available isn’t really what I want to do. No I don’t have the plugin 🙂
3. That’s exactly what I did. Thanks!
4. Where do you want them? Not sure if I noted ALL of them but I do have some.
This has gone wayyy of topic btw, sorry about that 🙂
Thanks,
Fredrik
That’s unfortunate. Is there any way to customize it with CSS then?
Sure I can list a few, I’ve made notes on all the changes I’ve made due to it being as many as it is.
1. First one is an email bug, I couldn’t enter some emailadresses and had to change a line to accept a specific domain in listing_validation_admin.js for the admin pages.
2. I had to dig into geodirectory_template_actions.php to change tag length from 40 to XXX. That seems like an easy fix to add to the setting screen but nope.
3. In custom_fields_functions.php I changed it to display a mailto link instead of the email address.
4. There is loads, i mean loads, of translations in the plugin code that isn’t in the .po files that I had to change. Everything from the admin pages to the frontend pages.
That’s just a few. I don’t mind customizing stuff for my own use, but not being able to update the plugin is a pain. But sometimes it’s good, seeing the layouts changed a lot.
Hi,
No I haven’t been able to update yet due to customizations. Geodirectory handles customizations pretty bad so I’ve stayed with that version.
But seeing the layout from the new version makes me reluctant to update to be honest.
It’s not as appealing as the old layout really. Is there a way to change it back to the old layout if you upgrade?
Regards
Thanks, that worked.
For the record;
I forgot to doublecheck that the pin images was correctly set on each category. Changing the icon for each category made all the markers appear again on the map.You can consider this resolved.
