There’s nothing wrong with the settings. I have GD booster off.
And that’s the problem, that all urls have references to the location. That is bad. I’m sure other experienced SEO’s have mentioned this.
The question is and has been what is required to add categories to just the location url’s, and not the profile urls? I’m not interested in anything but that, thx.
And we’d also like ‘location’ out of the location urls
Ok, I put our stage site back to default setup for wpgeo, without in listing url permalinks enabled, and here are the sample pages;
Location page example
http://greatergatsby6.wpengine.com/location/texas/dallas/Profile page example
http://greatergatsby6.wpengine.com/photographers/doubletree-hotel-philadelphia/We just want to add the categories onto the end of the location pages, so
http://greatergatsby6.wpengine.com/location/texas/dallas/category/If you can do it, great, let me know. If not, I’ll find someone else. If anyone else sees this and wants to do it, please contact.
Here’s what we want;
/places/texas/dallas/category/
/profiles/businessname/
we have about 20 categories of photographers that will be in each location, city or state/region
There are two very important reasons;
1) Our directory is only for Photographers, and we don’t want their profile attached to one specific category in the url path. They will be in multiple categories.
2) For SEO reasons. We want a category page for each location.
Yes, thank you Stiofan.
As it is currently, the system allows you to add the category and location to the listing urls.
We’d like to add the category and location to the location urls instead. And have the profiles in a separate html directory, such as /profiles/businessname.
Location urls would then be as this;
/photographers/united-states/texas/dallas/wedding/
I think this is simple addition, should be.
How complex a customization? We are willing to pay someone.
Hi Guust, thanks for reply, but let me clarify. I don’t want the profiles in each category… I want profiles separate from the locations because a photographer needs to be able to be in multiple categories. And I don’t want their url’s so long for profiles.
Here’s what I want;
site/places/united-states/dallas/hotels/ for location side of directory
site/profiles/localphotographerprofileSo the easiest way to say it is that we would like categories on the location urls, not the listing urls, which is they way you have it set up now.
