April 7, 2015 at 9:40 pm in reply to: How will GeoDirectory solve multiple city names in large Metro Area in the USA #36466Merging cities is really for merging duplicate cities in error.
Scenario:
1. 2 listings in LA
2. 2 listings in Beverly Hills
3. Beverly Hills is within a 50 miles radius of the center of LA
4. Your search radius is set to 50 miles in GDNow if you use the location switcher to search LA, you will get 2 LA listings. Because you asked for all listings IN LA.
If you use the search function and enter LA in the “near” field, you will get 4 listings (2 listings in LA and 2 listings in Beverly Hills).
Because you asked for all listing within a 50 mile radius of the center of LA.GD takes its addresses from Google, and Google will suggest Los Angeles for that cafe. But once put on the map, ie lat and lng determined, you can change LA to Encino if you like.
Test: http://geo.goldroo.net/accommodation/united-states/california/encino/attractions/f/#post_mapGD does not use that plugin, that is a stand-alone plugin, is it not?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/cyclone-slider/Does everything work without that plugin?
Just delete it then, I’d say; less is more 🙂Most likely a plugin or theme conflict.
Did you activate a new plugin?Try going into your file system (control panel or FTP), and temporarily move one plugin folder at the time into a temp folder, starting with the latest one you added. Keep checking your site, that should pinpoint the culprit.
I am not 100% sure, so I’ll flag this for Stiofan as well.
Hi Marsha
Appearance > Widgets > GD CPT Listings
Add images at GD > CPT > Upload default imageI am not sure what homepage you want to use but you need
set GD > design > home > Set geodirectory home page as your home > yes
set WP settings > reading > latest postsOR
set GD > design > home > Set geodirectory home page as your home > no
set WP settings > reading > choose static pagesYou have that many plugins I don’t know where to start trying to pinpoint your problem, but start with disabling all caching plugins.
Then keep disabling one at the time and see whether it fixes things.
Or disable all except for GD plugins and then enable one at the time to isolate the conflict.Your site is also so slow it might be related to timeouts.
Can you post URLS and admin details please.
Give exact URLs of the problem, that should help us understand your problem better.Have a look at this post, that might get you started:

http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-general/#csvIf you’re still stuck, post your URL and admin details in a private message, and your CSV file.
I guess that is theme related. Most themes do not use H1 for the site title.
What theme are you using, and some URLs?If you add relevant custom fields to your teacher custom post type, then you can use the advanced search to create a customised search that should make that possible.
@Rajeshchandra Devjee
I see two square ads in the bottom of the sidebar on your homepage.🙂
