Stumped. All settings seem fine and the listings and details maps are working.
There is a problem with your permalinks.
If you create a listing now the URL is: /?gd_place=audacious-freedom
The correct URL should be: /places/united-states/new-york/new-york/audacious-freedom
I do no understand why it keeps doing that, your permalink settings are correct.I also cleaned up your locations but that is not the problem. But just remember that it is best to take the region suggested by the API and that a region is a subset of a country, like a province or state.

The dummy sites are just to give you a start to see how things work. They are completely fake listings.
In a live site, it would be totally unwanted to change the locations of real listings if you change the default location.There is no need to change the HTML name.
Are you trying to add a new custom field? You cannot create an additional category field, you need to add the existing one to the search.You have to add the desired fields by going to custom fields,
open the category field,
scrolling to the bottom,
and tick “include this field in filter”,
that will add it to the “advanced search” tab.Add a text widget underneath the map?
Or customize the popular category list widget so it shows the map icons as bullets sort of.Give this a try:
