CSS will hide all addresses.
You can turn off addresses like this:
GD > Place Settings (or other CTP) > address custom field and disable “show in sidebar”
The street address will still show in the info-windows.If you want to give people the option to add an address after your hid it from the sidebar, create an optional custom field to add a free-text address that you can show in the sidebar.
Hi Sally, a listing without an address will not show anywhere.
What you can do is add any address by dragging the map marker to where you want the listing to show on the map (middle of the UK somewhere?), and then change the Street address only to “Online business” or something – but don’t change any other address settings like country, region or city.
Then save.July 27, 2014 at 9:42 am in reply to: How to Set Up Custom Post Types when you have many categories and subcategories #10085Hi Reena, have a look at this page: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/places-categories-and-listings/
Customised search can show all categories within the one custom post type.
Search will only search one custom post type at the time.
The structure is Custom Post Type > Categories > Sub-categories
Post any further questions here.
Hi Sagee, you have to check “Organise my uploads into month- and year-based folders” in WP admin > settings > media
You can just open the sample CSV using OpenOffice, and it will automatically format the way required, just say yes when opening and save as CSV. Do not change any formatting if possible.
You might be able to use Excel but you need a plain CSV file, no formatting or fancy stuff.
CSV means comma separated value, so you just want to accept the default settings.
The reason your title etc did not upload is because you have non-plain characters in it: Bessiess Big, Sawayas
For video you need the full embed code:<iframe width="480" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/qC5_JOWjXZs?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Paolo is helping somebody else with a similar issue, so I’ll alert him.
1. Best not to use Excel, see http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/core-general/#csv
I don’t think the format in the CSV is relevant how it will be displayed on your site, that might be subject to your WP settings.
Either way, I don’t think you can change the format.
We’ll ask Vikas that one.2. Re-occurence is kept in another database table, so I don’t think that can be uploaded.
We’ll ask Vikas that one.3. See 1, but we’ll ask Vikas that one.
4. I doubt it, and yes, you guessed it, we’ll ask Vikas that one.
That is why your users can preview and review on the next page, and if you made a mistake, you can go back and correct.
Some submitters don’t take that much care, but I review all listings anyway, and correct whatever needs fixing. And they always can edit their own listing to fix their own problems.
You never are going to stop people that want to make a mistake 🙂
Maybe Paolo or Vikas have a different view. I’m sure we’ll hear from them then.
Whenever I move the marker after entering an address, all addresses change in Chrome: street, region and country, postcode and also lat and lng ?
In FF and IE only region and country, postcode and also lat and lng change.
But you can always change the address field after setting the lat and lng if you like. That is handy for people who do not want to show their correct address, but maybe want to indicate a general location, Eg online businesses.
See this example:
http://goldroo.net/attractions/trades/the-home-of-guust/#post_mapOk, seems all fine now, except a few things.
I tried to submit a listing from the public site, but cannot get a category to be picked: I get this error:Notice: Undefined index: in /home/chevalevkv/www/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory_template_actions.php on line 422
and it seems to stop everything in its tracks.
There is also an error in the infowindows:
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/chevalevkv/www/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/inc/comments-translation/functions.php on line 970
That would be an error with your WPML I guess, and maybe the other error is related.
I can see you have about 7 WPML plugins and I suggest de-activating all of them, check the above errors, and turn them on one by one while keeping testing to find what is tripping you up.I also deleted an empty locaion in multilocations, but that did not seem to be the problem.
Vikas, feel free to chip in.
Hi ManilaBoy and Simone, I had the same problem with the very early versions of GDF, and created my own template back then in the child theme.
It seemed the full width template back then was just a copy of the normal page.I have now changed the chosen template for some pages to the new standard full width page, and it now works.
ManilaBoy, are you using the latest GDF?
And as soon the lat and lng are calculated and locked in, and the API has sorted the region and city, you can adjust the street address to whatever you like, but do NOT click on Set address again.
Together with Paolo’s suggestion that is how I have been fixing difficult locations or correcting users incorrect locations.

You mean you want a video of us having a go at your site as per post #9550 above?
I might leave that to Simone [not too sure how to do videos, I am more of a static man].The virtual pages are required, they are the backbone of all the pages being generated. You should never touch them at all.
Strange we got it to work before by just de-activating the contact7 form.
I am a bit at a loss here, and might wait for Paolo again.
All I can still think off, is to de-activate all non GD plugins and turn them on one by one and keep testing to find the culprit. -
