If you would NOT be using Yoast, you would go to
Events > Settings > General tab > Show Advanced > see image.

If you want to use Yoast, then have a look at
SEO > Search Appearances > Content Types tab > Events (gd_event).

If you want to have different types of listings, then the Custom Post Types addon will indeed be what you are looking for.

To change the font-size, try this CSS, adjust as required:

.entry-content {font-size: 150%;}

I am not sure I understand. Which tabs or links are giving a 404?
Can you provide more details including admin login details for your site in a private reply?
