I am in the process of developing a business listing directory, on All India basis. The main revenue source I am targeting is through advertisements.

While I was happy to get the widget logic code from Paolo, I could not get the code to target the same at different locations.

Let me explain it here:

Suppose I have a Custom Post Type for EATING PLACES and I have child categories within it for Coffee House, Bakeries etc. I want to target the advertisements of Bakery products only for those who search for bakery products. That has been achieved from the code for widget logic given to me by Paolo.

Now with this logic, visitors who search from any location for bakery products, shows up the advertisement for bakery products. Now, let’s say, a Bakery from Hyderabad has given advertisement for Bakery products, I don’t want this advertisement in the Bakery section of someone searching in Chennai. It must appear only in Hyderabad location of Bakery category. In short it must be location and category specific.

For this purpose, you may visit my site: eyp.co.in and search for Hyderabad Agencies in custom Post Advertising and Publicity and select Hyderabad as the location. You will see the advertisement of JANRISE; If you search for any thing else in other custom posts in Hyderabad Location, these Ads do not show up. But if a visitor searching in Chennai City for Advertising, and if there is any advertising listing for Chennai location, the same ads of JANRISE show up there. It is meaningless to show ads to the wrong location.

I hope, with this you can send me the appropriate code for widget logic for the widgets to appear at ‘specific location and category’.

I am indeed surprised that it is not possible right now.

In the absence of any immediate solution, I am wondering, for the time being, whether I can prefix the location to each category and sub-category for each custom post type. (I have more than 20 custom post types) so that the advertisements can be targeted accordingly. This will be a lengthy process and a little confusing for the clients while selecting the categories while adding Listing.

Thanks for the response and your for specific custom type works (isset($_GET[“stype”]) && ($_GET[“stype”]==”gd_religious_place”)).

However, i would like to show advertisements for specific categories within the custom post type.

For example I have custom post type “Educational Institutions” and have the following categories:

Education
Coaching Classes
Colleges
Foreign Studies
Schools
Tutorials
Unversities

I would like to target advertisements when listing or searching for these categories.

Could you send me the code to be used in Widget Logic?
