no, it’s still broke 🙁
The 4 plugins in question, for the record are Beaver Builder (which I use per GD recommendation), UsersWP, WP Easy Updates, and WPS Hide Login.
This reply has been marked as private.Ah, yes, Alex is probably right in regard to the issue in relation to no author being associated, we’ll delete all those listings and try again 🙂 I suppose if not having an author assigned isn’t something that is going to be a thing then that may not be an issue.
As for the other site, ThingsToDoInNC.com with the previous version plugins and login issue, I went ahead and updated it so it’s working with the new updates as it should. Now it shows a notification and link to login so all is good there! Thanks guys!!!
I hate that it’s Friday and I have a long few days ahead of me. I would love to start testing all this again!
Looks like the update today fixed it, thanks!
Sweet, thanks Alex!
Cool, thanks Stiofan, I’ll try it again after the update then.
Here’s another video showing this:
Will someone else please look at this? Alex merely says It’s working for him but this is clearly not working for me or others here when they try it. I went through the effort of showing a video, screen shots, explaining, and all he says it’s working. Someone else had it happen to them the first time they went to the site so it isn’t cache. Plus I had already done this in inprivate browsing and a separate browser that I rarely use and have never used for these sites.
What works? Are you saying when you’re not logged in you’re getting”
“Sorry, this is a page template and can not be accessed from the frontend, it is used for building the layouts of GeoDirectory sections.”
Or are you saying when you’re logged in your getting a GD Archive page with no listings?
It doesn’t appear to be working at all for me. I tried on a phone, different browsers, and inprivate browsing and when not logged in I get this
“Sorry, this is a page template and can not be accessed from the frontend, it is used for building the layouts of GeoDirectory sections.”
Same thing happens on this site: https://thingstodoinnc.com/places/ clicking “All Places” renders the same “Sorry…” page when not logged in. And when logged in I get the same GD Archive page showing no results instead “All Places”.
Ah, that makes sense accept for entering the email address and name during the process and not being clear on the front end that the listing will need to be claimed later. I was excited about this because I thought it was going to save the user from having to register separately first.
It would be cool if when “Allow not logged in users to post from the frontend” is ticked they could create a password also and listing at the same time and they are the author of that listing. And then because they’re already signed in if they go to add another listing those fields were gone.
I didn’t have claim listing plugin installed so I guess “Allow not logged in users to post from the frontend” wouldn’t have worked without it.
thanks!
thanks!
When I’m logged in that title link goes to the GD Archive page and renders nothing.
If you select “Services” from the menu the listings page there has a title that says “All Services”. https://whocaniget.com/services/
When I’m not logged in I get the message:
“Sorry, this is a page template and can not be accessed from the frontend, it is used for building the layouts of GeoDirectory sections.”
