    Thanks for your time!

I was mostly wondering if there was any benefit to removing tables I don’t need anymore or any benefit to starting completely over with a fresh install.

I’m asking because I had a site that has been through years and years of updates. This site hasn’t gotten anywhere. I want to start working on it now that I may have more time. It would be great to use the content/site. But, it wouldn’t kill me to start completely over.

I am moving to a new server. I downloaded the original old site. But, I had some troubles migrating it to the new server. So, part of me just wants to start over.

Also, GV2 is coming out possibly in a couple months. Therefore I feel like it may be better to wait. But, I have more time now to mess with this than I may later. So ideally I could use the old content and get busy on using the site now taking advantage of my old content. I just don’t want to do that if using the old site is going to be worse maybe because of that old code lingering potentially making it more likely to have issues (loading speed, glitches of any sort, etc…)?

So, I would like some guidance since you guys know more about how GV2 is coming along. Most notably, will transitioning from the old to the new will be as good as a fresh install?

Apparently other links on this page are broken: “Download GeoDirectory V2 here, then upload and activate.” The here link is dead

I don’t feel like you answered my question or explained anything I’m observing.

So, the search page filter would “only show” what is selected and by location.

The listings still have qualifications that need to be filtered. Both listings pages and search pages are a long list of listings that need to equivocally be filtered. They even look identical, a long list of listings. The filter should be in both locations as it is needed in one location as much as it is needed in the other, it’s actually needed more in the search area. Filtering needs to be an option in both pages. This is very critical.

This can apply to really anything. Let me give you just one example. On veganlinked.com if you click food you get the listings page for all the food locations. They may be vegan or nonvegan food locations. Most people will not want to see all of the food locations in the world though. So, they’re going to search and come to a page just like the food category listings page. This will be a food category listings page too but based on location, you guys call it a search page. Just like the listing page the search page is a long list of food locations. And again it is important for people to be able to filter the food by vegan or nonvegan.

When someone is literally searching they will definitely want to filter their search. It is far more important to filter during a search than it is any other time. Can someone please make it so the filter is on the search page too? This is very important.

Anytime someone is searching for anything they may want to filter it. There are countless examples of how and why filtering would be extremely more than ideal to have along in the search results “search pages”.

Also, a different question, but relevant to this, if I’m starting a project that was stagnant for a long time with old GD plugins’, is it better (in regard to the GD plugins) to just start completely over fresh with a clean install? Or, as long as I update them of course, does it make completely no difference so I may as well keep the structure and content I already developed? The idea of starting fresh with all new installations on my new server just seems refreshing in a lot of ways. But, that may just be an illusion because I don’t “know” if it really matters. Afterall, they’re inevitably going to change…

“The addon works fine for Yelp.”
Please make it so that it says Yelp and not facebook since it works for yelp. We can still use it if the verbiage is changed.

Thanks, I hope it will be resolved soon because this is a significant part of the site.

    Thanks guys,

SERP is cool, what I was imagining is for the URL to be left as is. But, for their to be a second kind of URL opportunity. So, https://veganlinked.com/food/united-states/north-carolina/horse-shoe/garlik-vegan/ would still exist for SERP. Additionally though, it would be ideal/awesome if the same user could have a way to create a pretty url like veganlinked.com/garlik. I think it should be easily achievable/possible, right? If there’s not something out there to do this now, like a plugin, I’m sure there will be one day… 🙂 I’ll look deeper when I have more time. Thanks again!

Alex, Regarding reply #436837 the CSS worked great, thanks!

RE reply #436887, I think this is for a different post. We were talking about the listing titles on the listings page. Is this about a different post?
