I have a situation where someone joined, they used a discount code that was for 6 months free. They haven’t paid anything yet. In 6 months it’ll be 10 a month. I want to change their profile to free for life. But, they’ve already entered their billing information I think. They just haven’t paid yet.
How may I change it to free for life without making them go through the trouble of canceling and resubmitting a discount code? What is, or is there a the proper way to do it as admin?
Thanks, it would be neat to see an actual example of this, a real world example. As far as I can tell you’re just doing what events already does.
Since events show on the bottom, what happens when, like you said, a mall is linked to businesses and has events? Does the mall listing show events on the bottom and businesses on the bottom the same way?
In the case where the mall CPT is linked to the businesses, is the business CPT linkable to the Mall CPT or the other way around? Maybe the mall would need to dictate and/or approve which listings associated with its’ location?
Details and examples would be very helpful to understand this feature so I may take full advantage of it and not have to spend as much trial and error time. Actually building a directory for production is very time consuming. So anything to help us save time is very much appreciated! thanks!
Are you saying CPT linkage does the same thing? because I was originally talking about that and then you showed me the way events associated to a listing look which I thought was different…
Wait a minute, this is already happening without my doing the CPT linkable dealio:
https://veganlinked.com/in/united-states/north-carolina/asheville/asheville-vegan-society/
At the end of this place you’ll find the events linked to that place.
See images attached showing nothing has been linked yet I still have events linked to the place as you suggested, this seems to be different.
Awesome, thanks, that helps a lot. I spent some time talking this through with someone yesterday and came to the same conclusion. It helps knowing a GD Expert feels the same. I like knowing how the linking CPT works too. I am not sure I’ll ever need this feature but the more I learn about my niche and this feature the more likely I can decide to or not. So I appreciate your taking time to explain it! Do you have an example somewhere that I can see this in action?
I guess i need to make a future request to make future requests more easily searchable… lol
Thanks, it’s hard enough for me to test, build, learn, etc… I’m hoping it’s not necessary to put these ideas in future requests, so I hope someone else can/does, lol. Also, I wasn’t sure if GDV2 would apply to the future requests part of the forum or not. I’ll try and squeeze it in there quick I guess… the last time I did a future request though I spent a long time going through them all. I don’t know if it was just curiosity that sucked me into looking through them and sucked the time right out of my life or if it was necessary to make sure a request hadn’t already been made…
Thanks Guust, you dah man!
Thanks Guust, I’m very glad to hear V2 will be changing at least some of that. Do you think GDV2 will change the downgrading experience as well so that users may downgrade from our website instead of canceling and then resubscribing?
I’d love to change the social importer to just say “Yelp Url” for now until this facebook thing is resolved, is that easy?
Thanks Alex,
I have it setup so that expired listings go to Draft. Will the lister still be able to access through their dashboard expired listings that are in Draft so that they can upgrade them to paid listings?
Two days ago I was showing someone the site, this time on my phone. This issue happened again where an image didn’t show in the lightbox. I went to another listing to show them some things and the other listing appeared to work fine. When went back to the listing that didn’t have the light box it suddenly had it.
Also, I noticed the lightbox, while better than not having it, doesn’t show full screen really, the images inside the lightbox on a mobile device are uncomfortably small.
I noticed that GDV2 seems to have improved on this by showing the images larger on mobile. I haven’t tested it thoroughly enough though to say it’s perfect or doesn’t have this disappearing lightbox issue.
I am really just reporting this to you guys. It’s an issue since it’s happened two times both on desktop and mobile. But, since GDV2 may have this resolved maybe it’s something I can live with for now… Provide GDV2 doesn’t take significantly longer to release into production…
Thanks Alex, but I don’t want to hide the location switcher entirely in mobile view. I only want to hide the problem I described above.
Under “Search City” there is a “Select” drop down. When you select the “Select” drop down it only shows the first 6 cities and does not offer a way to scroll down through the list.
Ideally “Select” would be scrollable
or not show “select” at all if it’s only going to show those 6
or hide “Select” until “Search City” has been started.
or hide select and after typing in “search city” auto fill the “Search City” like it does on desktop
or hide select and after typing in “search city” show a growing list below based on what’s being typed
or possibly the cheapest way would be to change “select” to say something else like “select after typing in search city” or something more concise due to such limited room. The problem is more with what is presented right away. Sure, the field you typed in and searched worked. I know that works which is why I never said it was broken. What feels very broken is that the list presented in my mobile device is incomplete and very misleading. The list is instantly apparent. I need the list to not show at all if it’s not going to work (by allowing to see/scroll through) all the cities. Otherwise it will confuse visitors, frustrate them, or mislead them into not searching.
I understand completely what you’re saying.
I feel like it’s really more of a preview for how listing “will look live” to a visitor, not me. As a lister/editor I just want to see a preview of how it looks live (meaning hopefully to people visiting not just me being the only one visiting it).
In other words, I think “how it will look live” as you stated is how the listing looks live/working in front of visitors. As a lister I would like to think hundreds of people, or more, are going to see the listing, not just me so how it looks to them is what is most important. The visitors are what make it live, not just me. It’s minor, sure, I think it would be a cleaner/more effective and intuitive preview without that button. But, I’m sure you guys have more important things to deal with. So, I hope you don’t mind my input on this. 🙂
