After editing a page “Listing Success’ is a nice place to end up. But after checkout we’re brought to viewing invoice.

Is there a way to include the listing success page information in the invoice page that we land on after checkout? More specifically this information:

Awesome, looking forward to that. I’m assuming you mean GDV2 release?

Thanks for the suggestions Guust, you’re so very helpful!

Worse case scenario I’ll just add a Start New Search button somehow somewhere that, like the “everywhere” option, just goes to the location page. Then, as you suggest, that could compensate for not having a clear filter on that page. Although, it would be better to have a clear filter there consistently to limit real estate and limit all the subtle learning curves.

It really would be ideal to show all when there’s none (keeping site populated, interesting, and useful at least and sorted by closest) and boldly say “No Listings in/near XXXXX” and have that “clear near filter” show when there’s no listings like it does when there are listings (therefore being consistent).

If this isn’t something that can be done here to improve the “no listings page” for GD I suppose I’ll put it down on my “for development list”… 🙂

I didn’t add a search widget to the search page, not that I recall anyways. Supreme Theme only appears to have a top, right, and bottom widget area. There’s no “content section”. Where do I add widgets to the content area of the “No Listings Found Page”?

Sorry, I started this post out all wrong. Thank you for sharing those links but as far as I can tell they do not address the “No Listings Found” page that I can tell.

For this page, I would like to do 2 things:
I want to change/add text to the “no listings found” page. Is there an easy way to modify that text? I also need to add a hyperlink in that text, link to my add listing page. I want to encourage people to add listings when there are none.

Lastly, is there a way to show listings even when there are none? Then it could say “No Listings Found.” and below that show the listings for that CPT. It is better to at least show something whenever possible.

    Thanks!

Thanks, this is the best you’ve explained the difference between autocomplete and no autocomplete.

WHEN DEFAULT CITY STOPPED SHOWING IT ALL CAME TOGETHER FOR ME
When I first started testing all of this the default city was showing every time a search rendered no results. This made it appear like search wasn’t working and it made everything else about search really hard to understand.

Last night Kiran fixed it so that my site doesn’t show the default city when there are no results. Now I can see that even when there are no results the search is at least working. And so now I a capable of discerning how search works. Before there were too many unknown variables on the premise of it being broke (showing default city when searching a completely different state).

    MY BAD/NOT PAGINATION
As for the pagination thing, I wasn’t sure what to call it. That is why I said ” there is a little check box (pagination?) at the top left”. I was referencing what may be called “clears the near field”. It was late, I was super tired. I didn’t know what to call it so I was way off calling it pagination, lol… I guess “clear filter” is probably a better term.

Anyways, the clear near filter doesn’t appear when search renders no results. It does appear when there are results. I think it would make more sense if it showed whether there was results or not. This would really improve front end experience/ux. (see video).

    NOW THAT EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE
    SHOW CLEAR FILTERS
Is there a way to make it so when searching near “clear near filter” shows at top left even if there are no results?

When the “clear near filter” doesn’t show the end user doesn’t know what to do other than try another location. In a newer directory this most likely will end up showing nothing over and over each time they try a location. It would be really easy, quick, cool to click the clear near filter see all the listings. This could be a big deal in a newer directory. I could have hundreds of listings. But if they keep searching wrong it shows nothing. I’m afraid that without the clear near filter it will be too easy to keep searching wrong and see nothing.

    MANIPULATE “NO LISTINGS FOUND” PAGE
I will try to add some text to the “no results” page to explain things further and make some suggestions. That should help a lot. I will also try to add “popular locations” to that page.

I’ll also have to figure out a way to communicate the difference between “in” and “near” on the front end. Now that default city isn’t showing that should be easier to communicate. I think the no listings found page will be a good place to communicate it after the fact at least…

    Thanks for your patience!

Please watch this quick video. It really helps explain why I was having such a hard time understanding this. Now I have it better than ever! 🙂

Now that you fixed it so the default location doesn’t show when there are no listings found in other states all this finally makes sense. I just kept feeling like it was broke until you fixed that. 🙂 Thank you so much for fixing that, it fixed my brain too! lol! I have hated this advance search field for a long time and now I feel sooo much better about, better than ever, like I can actually use it for the first time!!!!! Thank you !!!!!!!

Kor was explaining this to me somewhere else. So, I made this video quick to share why I was having such a hard time with it:

You’ll see that I think the “clear near filter” would ideally show when no listings are found as well. This would really improve UX. Please let me know if there’s a way to do this. And thank you again for your patience, time, and help!

Thanks Guust, yeah, that’s why I was confused. I was looking for something to say “If checked visitors will be able to post listings and register at the same time”.

I had it on auto approve. Thanks for your suggestion, I think auto login with that should help. Along with redirecting them to add listing page. Thanks again!

Thanks, I thought that may be the case.

So I guess CPT’s are pretty malleable even after people join and are paying. We can change things like the listing slug and what not just not the taxonomies and post type. Or edit CPT’s in general without effecting the payment gateway. We just can’t move a listing from one CPT to another without breaking the payment gateway, correct? If so, this is all the more reason to get these categories nailed down right before people start joining!

    Thanks again Guust!

Thanks, it sounds like they’re suggesting removing the option to show related listings and then just use the related listings widget. I am curious, will this “move the information to the top?” Or just move the related listing to the bottom?

That sort of information seems ideal at the top. I thought this the first time I noticed where it was and before I even realized other sites, like facebook, put that information at the top…

Either way, thanks again Kor! I’ll give this a good try and revisit that post tomorrow to make sure I didn’t overlook something and to see how that works out.

You may notice in those images that there is no filter box in the top left. But there is when I search “north carolina”. With or without autocomplete north carolina works as it should and shows those filter boxes in the top left.

    Awesome, thanks Kiran!

Now this just showed me something. Now I can see that when I search “florida” i am actually being brought to florida. This is great, but it’s also showing a problem. See images:

When searching for events near “florida” without autocomplete I am brought to florida but it shows no events. If I use Autocomplete it does show the event.

Please see attached. Do you know how to fix this?

Right, makes sense, so, export listing, import to new CPT with new package id and their future subscription paypal payments will work. If so, thanks! I may needs this but I almost did recently… If I change my mind and try though it sounds easy enough 🙂
