Ok, i went back through it again after working on something else for a bit. I tried it again. The shortcode seems to be working better now in that it’s at least responsive. i think it wasn’t before because I was going from beaver to divi plugin to neither and trying different things and somewhere along the line with how i created the shortcode it wasn’t responsive.

It’s still not fullwidth though. I don’t have a sidebar set in customize. And the page is set to fullwidth. I don’t know why it needs to be so damn hard to make a page fullwidth…

This is something I’m very anxious about. When I first renewed my subscription to GD a few weeks ago I was planning on using elegant themes. Then the location page was driving me nuts. That, coupled with the change location in the navigation not working in mobile view, basically after almost two weeks of hell trying to make GD work with ET caused me to move to Supreme Theme. Now i’m about two weeks into this theme and about to a good spot and again the location page is crap.

But, the demo is sweet. so, there’s hope. So, please help me get mine like the demo so I move on and feel like the last month hasn’t been hell for nothing. Then maybe I’ll sleep better tonight and have a decent weekend not worrying about this.

I just went ahead and paid a hundred bucks for Beaver Builder. I guess I’ll have to do that annually now so I can use your theme and the ET Divi Builder I prefer to use is garbage for any GD projects.

For some reason the GD shortcode isn’t working entirely in the Divi builder on the homepage. It just falls apart, the listings are large no matter what and the mobile view does not show the featured image correctly at all. This is really odd because GD shortcode worked in Divi builder fine when I wasn’t using the Supreme theme. So, I guess I have to use Beaver Builder?

Your plugins, man, they’re great for someone that stays inside “your” box head Alex. But, they sure as hell fall apart when it comes to expecting an objective intuitive interface for the front end user and then they really fall apart even worse everywhere else (like when using with other popular themes and plugins. Since day one I’ve been trying to make them work ET’s Extra and Divi theme and now the Divi Builder with your Supreme Theme. What was the point of GeoTheme moving away from being a theme to a plugin if it wasn’t going to be a plugin that can work with other themes? So, I was forced into Supreme theme but now I can’t use your shortcodes in other plugins? Hell, the shortcode even looks like shit when the site goes down to mobile view independent of the Divi plugin.

I’m not asking you to support a 3rd party plugin. I’m asking you to support your plugin and shortcode and product because it is not working.

The Divi Builder is awesome for the Posts that make a wordpress blog pop and really nice. Divi is very popular. GD doesn’t do anything for posts. So, at least make it so we can use something for our posts while using GD without the two conflicting.

Man, you are killing me, this is a very serious project and you just constantly drag me through the mud. I can clearly point something out and you’ll just pop up uninvited and turn something clear into dirt just dragging it on for days. I have asked you to leave me alone so I can have others help me. You just make things worse almost every time. Please leave me alone and let me deal with someone else. Please, I beg of you! I’m so exhausted from you that it’s just destroying this dream and I can’t even fathom anymore how to move forward and resolve the most obvious, simple things with you.

Surely GD wants to work with Divi, let someone else respond to this thread and leave me alone. I’m not the only one having problems with you. Please leave me alone.

    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

As for hiring someone, I’m in the process of finding someone. In the meantime I’m not asking you guys to do things that are what I consider customization’s for my specific needs. I am asking for things that I imagine are obviously going to make your product better. I imagine that no one would want this avatar in their theme. It’s useless and make your product not look as good. There are some things that I understand would/should be something I pay someone to do and I don’t mind that. But, there’s some things that GD could also could benefit in cleaning up. You, or whoever takes ownership of GD, should appreciate this. I’m basically acting as a beta tester, only I paid you for this instead of you paying me for this.

Clearly using an avatar is not something a typical directory is going to be able to do well. Maybe a forum that has more “user” features. But, not a standard directory. So, you would benefit from having this CSS readily available for someone using Supreme Theme.

    Please look at reply #426106

The author page has a map for CPT’s that have an address. The author page “does not” need a map for CPT’s that have an address. The author page “does need” a sidebar for widgets when displaying the authors’ listings that have addresses.

I would like to remove the map on the author page. I would like a sidebar where the map is. CPT’s without an address are like this.

When the unnecessary map on the author page is gone there will be no need for the author listings page (see image in reply #426091). The dashboard can simply go straight to the author page.

    Alrighty, that fixed it.

No, if you don’t mind my asking, is it safe to use Divi Builder? It is working now. I started using Beaver Builder because somewhere in the forum it stated that Beaver was the only one they tested with Supreme.

Originally I wasn’t going to use Supreme, I was going to use an Elegant Theme. But, I was having problems getting the Elegant Theme to work with the GD plugins correctly. They may resolved this in the newer version of GD. But, since then I have grown fond of the Supreme Theme.

Last night I remember, Elegant Themes has a plugin for their Divi Module! So, that prompted me to try it. I’m more comfortable/familiar with Divi than I am with Beaver.

So, this would be sweet, to use the supreme theme and the Divi Builder for my posts and other pages. That almost be like the best of both worlds. So, I ask, do you think it is safe to go all into using Divi Builder plugin? I’m going to toy with it while I await your reply…

look in the author section of this page for CSS for hiding the author image:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/detail-page/

    The CSS is:
    .sd .sd-detail-author {display: none;}

This hides the author AND the “claim listing” and “edit” button. 🙁

Thanks, as far as the sidebar though:

    1. is there a way to remove the map from the author page?

Remove the widget from the author page widget area

The map widget is not and has never been in the author page widget area. So, I still don’t know how to remove the map…

Wait a minute, if you were looking at my posts above your responses you would know that I know about the widget and clearly I’m saying I’m using the widget but it’s not showing on the author page with CPT’s that have an address. Putting the widget at the bottom is ridiculous, it spreads it crazy and virtually hides it. And there is no need for the map on the author/dashboard page.

    So, again:

is there a way to remove the map from the author page? Please supply a way, I’m trying to make your theme better for users, not just me. It’s a great theme, surely you want to “finish it” by making the dashboard have no map and allow a place for the sidebar.

Is there a way to remove “my account” from the navigation? Please answer how/supply a way

What would be the URL I use to create a menu item for “Login/Dash” because if I use author after the domain name I need it to pull the users name after that
https://veganlinked.com/author/(what can I put here automatically add users name so this url will go to their dashboard. This way I can create a menu item for the navigation somewhere I want, like in the “more” drop down and footer and call it whatever I want like “Login/Dash”.)
