Yes, thanks! 🙂
Another example is “Food Trucks”. They aren’t enough to justify their own CPT and obviously fit perfectly under “Food and Drinks” but they most likely do not necessarily have a specific location.
Another example, I am a lister and videographer. I work from home, but I do not want people to know my address. But, I want people to know the City and State, so I want to appear on the map, maybe in the center of the city, or at least just put my state and city and move the map icon to where I think it would make sense….
Another example is this. I may have a CPT “Food & Drink” and within this “Catering” and “Meal Delivery” in which case the lister/customer may not want to have their address displayed.
Is this custom button something you guys are going to work into the plugin? It seems like you would… I can create a button with Divi that goes to a specific URL, it just may be tricky to really integrate it nicely.
Oh, and thanks for fixing the archive page!
Thanks!!! 🙂 I know I’ve been irritable, thanks for putting up with me, I feel I’m getting closer to having this all setup!
Simple is good for the customer, but simple is lost if they have to “resubscribe” when I change their listing to a new CPT. So, I’ll have to make it simple with separate CPT’s, first I have to predict the future of all the listings possibilities.
Last questions on this, hopefully. Is there any other changes to the site that can cause the customers’ subscription to no longer work? Like, changes within a CPT (adding filters, adding fields, etc…)? It may take a lot of work to get a paying customer. The last thing I need is for them to have to go through the process again.
Or am I missing something, maybe it’s easy for them to resubmit their payment?
I expect these plugins to work flawlessly with Elegant Themes Divi Builder and Extra Theme since they are definitely one of the best theme developers out there. You guys need to make it so we customers don’t have to spend so much time in this support forum.
Man, this eats up too much time. When I video it you can see what is happening. And, if there’s more than one issue you can resolve it. I’m the customer, not the beta tester, not the programmer. I’m not asking for special customization, I’m pointing out problems. It’s easier to explain it all in a video and easier for you to see exactly what is happening.
Alex, that changes everything, if the subscription doesn’t follow the listing then I’m not even going to try and go in that direction.
Guust, thanks, one thing that makes me want to wait to create different CPT’s is the “Maps can only show one CPT at the time but can show multiple categories at the same time.” I imagine when the site is heavily populated it being advantageous to have the map only showing one CPT at a time. But, initially it seems ideal to show everything on the map since there’s not a lot of listings and it may be a while before there is. Maybe this is a good reason to keep the site simple at first and not have more than one CPT?
Also, does changing a customers’ listing from one CPT to another effect their payments at all? So, for example, if a restaurant under CPT “Places” is paying me $10 a year and then I move them to CPT restaurants does this require the customer to do any thing? And, are they still paying $10 a month? And, what if the new CPT has a different price?
Thanks Alex, that helps a lot. So, it seems like it may be easier both initially and in the long run to first start with the one default CPT. Then it sounds like it may be really easy to create a new one when the site demands it and, as you say, export one CPT into another CPT. My question with you now is, can I export just one category (e.g. just the restaurants category in the CPT “places”) or do I have to export all the categories in a CPT (e.g. every category in places)?
