Sure… so to clarify both point.
First all are freeIn one case I use it as a weather alert map..and I want everyone to be able to post automatically to that CPT without draft
On the other I use it as a crime directory I want to allow police agencies the ability to post directly, but the normal people to goto draft.
For the police issue I considered creating a package and only allowing aurthoized agencies the ability to sign up for it..to overcome that..I haven’t gotten that far.
My current big challenge is how to make a single CPT have a default listing as published while the others remain draft…due to the time critical nature of weather emergenciesThanks Stiofan, Will do

I have a similar issue (though slightly different). I run multiple types of maps/directories. Is there a way I can make one particular CPT autopost while the others goto draft. Any suggestions would be welcome.Stiofan,

Thank you for the response. It is hard to convey, but I’ll try better. Im attaching two pics though I don’t know how much help they will be.1.For one I essentially just want the ability for users on the front end to be able to utilize Google Maps Search function to get a location (the locations will not be of a listing we have, so the normal search function will not return a result). I know there are plugins that accomplish this as it is the same API the the directory runs on, but I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t something I could already do, and more importantly that running such a plugin wouldn’t cause a (known) conflict.
2. The one I expect to be more challenging is the ability for individuals to do driving directions like in the Google Maps image I’ve included and have the route display on my directory. So essentially adding a ‘Get Directions’ option on the sidebar or somewhere. I should note they wouldn’t be getting directions to a listing, but I would just want the listings to show on their route.
If this is a customization requirement is it something your team would be interested in tackling, and if so could we work together for a quote. Outside of the forum is fine as well.

My question is though that it would seem that it should give a no search results found page…or something to that effect as it will likely seem to the user that the site is broke. (this is all on the front end)
Great, Thanks. I’m occasionally getting this error. I’ve noticed that it is when I run a search for something that is not there….for instance I typed a random word and searched Dallas Texas and was presented this error. Do you have any idea what could be causing this.

I have a question that is slightly different, though along the same lines (as in I hope it doesn’t corrupt the databse :). In Custom Post types will I break anything if I edit the ‘Listing Slug, Name. and Singular Name’ For places to something else that better fits my sites them. I understand that I can edit the translate…, but as I don’t actaull need the ‘Places’ on the front end and would prefer something more tailored this seemed a reasonable approach. I just want to make sure that it wont corrupt somethin and cause me issues later when the site is live and popular 🙂
Thank you both very much for the assistance. It’s ended up having multiple bad entries ( I obviously need to do better quality control on what I import). In the end I just deleted all the imported post until the pins began to show again. A chore, but it’s done now.Once again thank you for the quick reply.
