Sorry I’m referring to the category images that fill the header section of the location pages. By default you can set an image and the search form appears over that image (like the image attached). That’s what’s not working with the custom page creation instead of using the default page.
Hi, I tried to recreate my own page but as I mentioned the category images aren’t pulled in. Is there a way to do this? Thank you!!
My main issue with the default header is that I can’t figure out how to change the popular categories listed here. I would just like to list the CPTs, not the categories within the CPTs as this is pulling from. My CPTs are: EAT, SEE, BEACH, HIKE. That’s the only categories that I would like displayed here, I knew how to do it in V1 but not sure how to do it with V2. Thank you.
Thank you @1naveengiri! It’s good to see someone else on the GD team. Much appreciated!
This reply has been marked as private.I’m also having this issue. Do we have any confirmation that the update fixed the issue? I have updated but the issue persists for me.
Thank you.
There’s also the option for “auto” (I think), does this allow for multiple post types to be shown on the map.
Hi again, you can disregard…this just leaves too much room for error. I will just use direct location pages instead. Thank you.
Hi again, can you please have a look again? I added a space to all of the GA listings, so the listings read as: Cumming, Georgia ( GA ). Now when searching by the abbreviated state: GA, all of the GA listings now appear. GOOD!
However, a listing in Illinois is also appearing, whose title is: Wheaton, Illinois (IL), and also a listing for South Africa, whose title is: Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.
Any idea why these would be pulled into a search for GA?
Hi @stiofan, thanks for having a look at this. I’ll add the spaces and include tags to get the search results a bit more consistent.
We are using the “Near Me” as a search button and chose to remove the “Near” text field to avoid confusion. The site demographics serve an older generation and from our testing/feedback, most will input their city, state or state abbreviation as a point of search.
Thank you again for your time.
I’m sorry, but this still doesn’t make sense to me. The listing has the exact search terms in the title, it should show up. Even if the listing content doesn’t “rank” if you’re doing a search for an exact term – like MD or NY, all relevant listings should appear consistently. This sounds like a bug.
Maybe @paolo or @stiofan can consider this for a response. Thank you.
Hi Alex, I’m not sure how or why that would have any effect. The search results should render the applicable listing titles, right? You can try others, they’re a little strange too.
Try a search for : OR and Oregon, in the OR search other irrelevant listings appear
FL and Florida, in the FL search other irrelevant listings appear
NY and New York, issue is similar to the MN/Minnesota search.
Since the search function is a major part of a directory, it should be accurate. Any thoughts as to why it would be returning inconsistent results? Thank you.
This reply has been marked as private. No, but thanks for asking Kor.
Doh! I got it. I’m still getting the hang of the shortcode builder. I got mixed up between the Loop and Listings shortcode. 🙂
