I don’t think you guys check responses once marked as resolved, but going to try again before creating another thread. When clicking on near (me) and then search, I’m taken to a page of my lasting listings, not the nearest locations. This was actually working right before the updates. Stiofan did some changes for me and it worked for a while, and I was notified by WP that there was another update of Advanced Search plugin, and it hasn’t worked since i updated. Was hoping someone could look into it again. And it does work correctly on desktop, only not working on mobile. A friend tested and has the same issue.
I spoke too soon. It was working earlier, but now when I tap the compass in advanced search box and tick the Near Me box, it just takes me to the latest listings again, not to listings near me. I’m about to pull my hair out on this. I didn’t change anything with any geodirectoy plugins. This is the link I am hitting on my phone: http://acrossba.com/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=+&snear=Near%3A+Me&sgeo_lat=36.0854061&sgeo_lon=-95.7879909 . It works fine on desktop.
Well no wonder, lol. I had there at one point but was doing some testing and apparently took the widget out and forgot to replace it. Thanks Paolo!

Don’t know if you’ve already fixed it since my last post or not, but geolocate now seems to be working properly.
Thanks Stiofan. I am using Siteground as my host and I believe they do add some server caching automatically. I will check into it and disable for this site. I am having the issue again that i use to have with geolocate until recently though. If I check near, it is only showing the newest listings, not the nearest.

Stiofan/Merchbroker,
After nearly pulling my hair out, I seem to have found an easy fix:
If Geodirectory is set as your home page (http://your home page.com), add /location/me to the link (http://your home page.com/location/me). I tested this by going to several locations of my city and it pulled up the nearest business listings each time (I’m using customized search option). After initially going to /location/me, when I click on the header which links only to my home page, and not to /location/me, it still works, at least for me and my business associate that tested it extensively.I’m actually accessing the my directory from a link from an app we are creating, but it should work using your phone browser, as long as users initially hit the homepage.com/location/me initially.
Hope that helps and works for you merchbroker. And sorry Stiofan, I actually just figured this out late yesterday and planned to post last night letting you know how I got it to work, but was busy with other stuff.
Bad news Stiofan. The mobile browser still isn’t updating :(. When I go to various locations within the city, it still shows me at my previous location, even if I try and refresh the page. I had a friend try and access it on his iPhone 6 and he had the same results. Although this is a very important piece of a city directory, I’m unfortunately going to have to deactivate advanced search until it works correctly. I sincerely hope you continue to work on it.
Stiofan,
The site is much faster now, possibly the fastest loading it has been. However, when I originally opened the site in my default phone browser, it seemed to still be accessing a cached copy. It asked me to accept geolocate, and when I did it placed me several miles south of my actual location. When I accessed it about 30 mintues later to check some mapping issues, it again asked for permission to geolocate. This time it did put me in the correct location. I will have to check it again once I change locations to see if it is working correctly now, and will reply and let you know later this evening.Another interesting issue. If I click on a category or subcategory, then tap “Pinpoint”, it correctly displays the map and category icon. However, if I search for the same business, then tap on “Pinpoint”, it doesn’t do anything. In both instances, after selecting the business title then going to the detailed listing, then clicking on Map tab, the map works correctly.
I greatly appreciate the effort you and your team have put in to working on this problem. I am confident that you will get the bugs worked out and I plan on being a long term customer and look forward to continued improvements and additional features with Geodirectory.

I disabled GD Booster and it does load now. But on mobile the map icons don’t show up, although they do on the desktop. Also, obviously due to deactivating GD Booster, the site is loading much, much slower on mobile now.
Stiofan,
I updated all the plugins but now it only starts to load but never finishes. I am going to deactivate GDBooster and see if that’s the problem, but am hoping you can take a look. That’s great Stiofan. You’re the man. Perfect timing as I am about to meet with business personnel, and I can tell them geolocation will be working correctly soon.
