Thank you. And to confirm. This is not “just for Burning Man” but for all recurring events? May I now turn back on the recurring events function and not have this happen with other recurring events? Kind regard and much appreciation.
Ok.. it was the GD “standard” width that was causing the headaches. I change it to full width after taking all css out. Thank you for the second look.

Yes, this is the “function” that I was referring to and it did not work. I have even disabled the recurring events in the GD setup. Might there be another way? I am going to remove the code so as not to forget to do it later. Thank you Kor and paolo.

As long as you’re using the plugin on one site within your multisite network, you should have no problem using the single license within the network. You’ll have no loss in functionality there.
You can modify the slug that is used for the events section of your website within the Events > Settings > General. There are two options there for setting the Events page as well as the single event slugs. I installed this plugin (no guarantee it will work for you) Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection. It worked just fine when using the “near me” button. You will have to play around with the settings and test for yourself. It is a free plugin
