I am not sure what is going on. I have built a new site using the supreme directory and every time I try to use the near me feature I get the error code “Permission denied in finding your location” I was told that I need an SSL but I am not collecting money on my site so I do need it. I am hoping that you can go in and see if any of my settings are wrong, before I input all of my locations. I really like Geodirectory but I need this to work correctly. And I hope that someone can help me correct this.

    Hi,

both Chrome and Safari now require a secure website for GeoLocation to work. People are sending their physical location, which is more sensitive than a credit card number if you consider it, so it’s not that unreasonable to require a website to be under SSL.

There is really nothing we can do about it.

    Thanks

I do not know if this will be of help. I do have SSL Certificate installed. I had the same issue today. I installed this plugin (no guarantee it will work for you) Easy HTTPS (SSL) Redirection. It worked just fine when using the “near me” button. You will have to play around with the settings and test for yourself. It is a free plugin
