    Hi Kiran, ty

    yes works.

    sorry now two other problems.

    1. Backend is in English now, which confuses me understanding the settings of plugins. Is it possible to switch it back into German? Screenshots 1 and 2

    2. When choosing a city with the location list. It shows now all locatians correctly, in all languages. Great and ty
But if you click on a category now it lists all entries.

Example: every city has exactly one town hall.

If you choose a city with the location widget in the sidebar, the locations are shown correctly. Screenshot 3

If you now click on city halls (contains 1 city hall for the choosen city). You get a list all city halls of all cities instead of only one. Screenshot 4

    Did u change here anything?
This happens in all languages and makes that kind of searching senseless.

    3. How did you let show the location widget only on pages with gd content. I cant find a selection as in the other gd widgets. May be i have to use the widget as well on normal pages in one language.

Have a nice evening – Markus

    Hi again Guust,

Oh, I forgot. With the Gd Locations widget it is not possible to display the widget only on GD pages, like with all other widgets. That would be important, because on a blog article page it has lost nothing. Only with GD contents it makes sense and completes.

Did I overlook this option or is it still missing?

Thank you and best regards, Markus

Unfortunately there is another problem with the permalinks.

I use 3 languages – German (source language) English and Spanish.

When displaying the locations everything works fine – if I switch to another language. In each language the entries are displayed correctly when clicking on a category. ScreenShot 1 and 2 (German and English).

Now I have listed all 141 municipalities with a city hall as Location Cities. Only these communities should get more entries, pharmacies, holiday homes, hotels, whatever.

In the right sidebar I used the great widget location list. So users of easy can click on their city to see and select all available locations via the category icons.
I have created one widget per language. The cities are listed correctly in all languages.
    ScreenShot-3 for the English language.

    Now the problem
The Location Widget in the Sidebar links correctly only in German and calls the central Location Category Site. There you can see the available locations in the respective categories and they can be listed by clicking on them. ScreenShot 4: https://altea.me/location-deutsch/agost/

If I switch the language to English or Spanish I get a 404 error.
The PermaLink seems to be correct.
    https://altea.me/en/location-english/agost

The permalinks I have already set back and forth several times in the settings. As described here. Instructions from https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/#404

All gd pages are translated and created and assigned for each CPT category.
Also the location template is translated.

I’m helpless, maybe you have an idea what it is about. Is it possible that the widget can only link one language correctly?

Greetings and a nice evening – Markus

    Good morning Guust,

    thanks, that’s how it works.

I’m sorry I stole your time. I was looking for permalink in the documentation, not country slug.

Finding the right English keyowrds in a research is unfortunately difficult for someone who doesn’t speak English.

Please excuse the unnecessary effort to answer. I should have found that.

Thanks anyway – especially because you responded so quickly. that saves me trying out the weekend with senseless stuff.

    nice weekend and greetings, Markus

    Hi Kiran,

i swapped the two files with the github files as suggested.
    – includes/class-geodir-maps.php
    – includes/widgets/class-geodir-widget-categories.php
Thanks again for that Link. Here are my results.

    1. it works with
[gd_categories post_type=0] – All post types are displayed.

Two things implemented and it will be in next release.
    1) Option added in gd_categories to show CPT title, so it will easily separate categories by CPT title.

The CPT title is not displayed by me. See ScreenShot 1
Question 1: Which options are available for catecoies and maps shortcode to show CPT Title?

    2. if I enter another CPT in the Shortcodes option, [gd_categories post_type=’gd_gesundheit’] it works great for category and maps – ty.
    screenshot 2.

    2. Are there any other options for the category and maps SHortcodes and widgets i should know?

For now you can put separate gd_categories shortcode/widget for each CPT if you want to show individual CPTs.

Yes, that works well and now I can make it my way.
Filter is just more comfortable – but that’s how it works – great.

We have already task in our list to include/exclude CPTs it will be in future version.

That’s great. Is there already a Github file for this option?

Have a good start into the day – Mark

    Hi Guust,

ty- sorry – i caused you to do that work for me – i was searching some time before asking. But did not find that – again sorry you wasted your time. I usually always inetnsely search the Internet and forums before asking. 😉

Yes mime types was the reason for the error. No everything is fine – thank you very much for your help.

    kind regards – markus

    Hello, Kiran,

thank you very much. This is good news.

Since I’m not a coder, I’ll have to wait for the update. Or you can give me a little instruction in which file I have to add or exchange which code.

Is there already a schedule when this will be implemented?

    Another question about filtering CPTs.
Is it then possible to display individual CPTs?
The CPT title and the sorting A-Z helps to make it clearer. But with e.g. 20 CPTs with 20 categories each, very many are displayed. It would be desirable to exclude CPTs. Or you can only display those CPTs that are named in the shortcode.

I have to renew my membership in September. I like to do that when it is foreseeable and really comes. Because this is a key criterion for me to be able to use gd.

    Best regards, Mark

    Hi, Alex,

thank you for your taxonomy link. Unfortunately the PlugIn doesn’t work as well as all other plugins. I think I’ve tested all taxonomy plugins that exist the last 2 days. It doesn’t work with any of them with the gd categories. With the WP Post Categories it works fine, with all PlugIns.

They work with GD in the BackEnd. ScreenShot: sort-back-end.jpg
I can move and arrange the GD categories of a CPT there.

But it has no effect on the display and sorting of categories in the frontend. See ScreenShot Videos-map-categories-01.jpg

The map categories are sorted alphabetically by default. There seems to be a filter. Why isn’t at least that the case, also with the categories? It would be so important, because otherwise gd_categories is not useful. And it is one of the most important elements of GD for the display for the user.

It seems that GD uses its own order for the categories, as already written several times. I have spent days, even weeks to solve the problem and slowly get tired. Maybe you can ask a developer.

    2. unfortunately i haven’t got a real answer to my other problem with gd_categories yet. I’ve probably written 10 posts about it in the meantime and documented them with ScreenShots.

In the category display the CPTs are not delimited, have no title and are notcludable or includable. See screenshot cpts – categories-02.jpg

Here are 3 CPTs (Tourism, Health and Videos) listed, each with a few categories. The CPTs are not separated from each other and have no title. And the sorting is pure chaos – in contrast to the map. There, everything is fine. I have provided the categories with numbers 1,2,3 etc, so that you can better understand what is meant.

I think you have programmed the best directories there are. I have a big project in front of me and we discover new power every day. But if I can’t show the results to my visitors properly, it will be pointless.

Please write to me if a filter for gd_categories is planned and if so, by when it will probably be implemented. I’ve already asked for this at least 4 times and didn’t get a real answer.
I know, support is an exhausting job, I did it for some years. So i thank you a lot for your work. But please an answer to my 2 questions. I have been fighting with it for 4 weeks now in many 100 man-hours. Thank you.
    Best regards, Markus

Sorry Alex, forgot to send the ScreenShot with the cctp Filter which exists in gd_maps.

Just the gd_category is missing that.

    Hello again,

Thanks, Alex. I have tried some taxonomie PluIns. They work with normal wordpress categories. Apparently, but not with gd categories.

For testing I have 3 CPTs
    Screenshot 2019-08-19-post-types.jpg

The categories in each CPT are now sorted with the Txaonomie PlugIns. Screenshot 2019-08-19-cpt-order-ok.jpg

But as a result, I get that.
    Screen Shot: 2019-08-19-category-icons 3-cpts.jpg

Only the second CPT is sorted correctly. Because it is in the order it was created. I’ve added numbers to all of them to make it easier to recognize for you.

It seems that gd manages the sorting of the display itself. No PlugIn i tried did effect the order oft categories shown. Could that be?

And again to my filter question gd_categories. I only have 3 CPTs on the test page here. Final I have 12 -15 and each has about 15 categories. That’s about 200 to 300 categories at least. So you can’t use the location category display. Is there news, if a filter is installed to show only desired CPT categories? Or at least a possibility to give the CPTs a title above it, so that it becomes more structured. So it is chaos. Noone can recognise start and end of a cpt

At the map below, there is the filter. Here I can choose which cpt categories I want to display.

Sorry, this is a long text. But I work day and night on this project and that’s a hurdle that stops me completely.

    Best regards, markus

    Hello again,

    1. wanted to ask if there are any news to display selected CPT categories.

    2. the display of the categories is sorted by the creation date. I haven’t found an option to set a sort order. Neither individually, nor at least alphabetically.
It seems that the order is determined by the creation date. With the ID probably.

This leads to e.g. hotels, holiday flats, holiday homes, camping sites, hostels, private rentals etc. being displayed in different places. Depending on when the category was created.

Is there a way to sort the IDs of the categories for display?

    Best regards, Markus
