    Hello dear support team,

I’m still excited about the infinite possibilities that GD makes possible. After 5 months of intensive work – I just scratch 20% of the potential – maybe only 10% or less – great, great work.

To this WPML question I did not see any category at the PlugIn Forums – so I post it here – should I overlook something jaben please move it to the right place, thank you.

The WPML Bridge works so far. The category of the translation is selectable and lists the preview. The URL of the category list permalink is correct.
    See ScreenSHot

When creating an entry as a WPML copy in another language, everything is copied correctly, only the permalink is not.

The permalink then only goes to the Hompage URL with the language option.

    Example Permalink German Original:
    https://altea.me/behoerden-versorger/ayuntamiento-rathaus-gemeindeverwaltung/provinz-alicante/sant-vicent-del-raspeig/ayuntamiento-sant-vicent-del-raspeig/

If you click on the preview, you will be taken to the start page of the selected language and not to the GeoDirectory entry in English.

The permalink of the English Translation Dublicate is https://altea.me/?lang=en whih is the English homepage of the site.

Unfortunately I cannot edit the permalink in the translation.
Neither above, as in the original language entry, nor below at the Yoast Snippets area permalink
Is there another place to do that?

I’ve read almost every thread about it and all the documentation about GD and WPML. I just can’t find it.

Do you have an idea? Surely another stupid mistake from me and it will be quite simple.

Good evening and best regards, MArkus

    You should use this setting:
WPML > Languages > Language URL format > Different languages in directories

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/multilingual/#faq

    Let us know. Thanks.

    Good morning Guust,

    thanks, that’s how it works.

I’m sorry I stole your time. I was looking for permalink in the documentation, not country slug.

Finding the right English keyowrds in a research is unfortunately difficult for someone who doesn’t speak English.

Please excuse the unnecessary effort to answer. I should have found that.

Thanks anyway – especially because you responded so quickly. that saves me trying out the weekend with senseless stuff.

    nice weekend and greetings, Markus

Unfortunately there is another problem with the permalinks.

I use 3 languages – German (source language) English and Spanish.

When displaying the locations everything works fine – if I switch to another language. In each language the entries are displayed correctly when clicking on a category. ScreenShot 1 and 2 (German and English).

Now I have listed all 141 municipalities with a city hall as Location Cities. Only these communities should get more entries, pharmacies, holiday homes, hotels, whatever.

In the right sidebar I used the great widget location list. So users of easy can click on their city to see and select all available locations via the category icons.
I have created one widget per language. The cities are listed correctly in all languages.
    ScreenShot-3 for the English language.

    Now the problem
The Location Widget in the Sidebar links correctly only in German and calls the central Location Category Site. There you can see the available locations in the respective categories and they can be listed by clicking on them. ScreenShot 4: https://altea.me/location-deutsch/agost/

If I switch the language to English or Spanish I get a 404 error.
The PermaLink seems to be correct.
    https://altea.me/en/location-english/agost

The permalinks I have already set back and forth several times in the settings. As described here. Instructions from https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/#404

All gd pages are translated and created and assigned for each CPT category.
Also the location template is translated.

I’m helpless, maybe you have an idea what it is about. Is it possible that the widget can only link one language correctly?

Greetings and a nice evening – Markus

    Hi again Guust,

Oh, I forgot. With the Gd Locations widget it is not possible to display the widget only on GD pages, like with all other widgets. That would be important, because on a blog article page it has lost nothing. Only with GD contents it makes sense and completes.

Did I overlook this option or is it still missing?

Thank you and best regards, Markus

    Hi Kiran, ty

    yes works.

    sorry now two other problems.

    1. Backend is in English now, which confuses me understanding the settings of plugins. Is it possible to switch it back into German? Screenshots 1 and 2

    2. When choosing a city with the location list. It shows now all locatians correctly, in all languages. Great and ty
But if you click on a category now it lists all entries.

Example: every city has exactly one town hall.

If you choose a city with the location widget in the sidebar, the locations are shown correctly. Screenshot 3

If you now click on city halls (contains 1 city hall for the choosen city). You get a list all city halls of all cities instead of only one. Screenshot 4

    Did u change here anything?
This happens in all languages and makes that kind of searching senseless.

    3. How did you let show the location widget only on pages with gd content. I cant find a selection as in the other gd widgets. May be i have to use the widget as well on normal pages in one language.

Have a nice evening – Markus

    Good morning, Kiran,

I’m sorry to have to call you again. But this morning again all locations had a 404 error with the widget. None of the languages works, not even German.

I didn’t work on gd yesterday, only did string translations. And also nothing at the permalinks changed.

The only thing I can imagine is that I happened to catch a word in the string translation that also occurs in a slug. I can’t tell if it is so.

If you come to it today, it would be very nice. Because Google has just started to index the site intensively. And will punish me with the whole 404 Errors:

    https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBD_deDE861DE861&biw=1368&bih=666&ei=n3SCXaXWJayBi-gPxYSE4As&q=site%3Aaltea.me&oq=site%3Aaltea.me&gs_l=psy-ab.3…43972109.43977612..43978090…0.0..0.241.1403.7j5j1……0….1..gws-wiz…….0i67j0i131j0.Xqy7SOa9iJc&ved=0ahUKEwjloaLA_drkAhWswAIHHUUCAbwQ4dUDCAs&uact=5

I didn’t switch the permalinks back and forth today. Everything as relaxed as last night when it was still working.

Have a good start into the day and best regards – Markus

    Hi Alex,
thank you for the quick answer. 😉

Its the the same problem i described here and Kiran seemed to fix it: But there are some unexpected results with that fix. Shall i really open a new topic? How should i call that. I think it belongs here but will do this, if u like.

    Hi Mark,
Please check now location pages works fine in all languages.
    Kiran

    1. After that fix my backend now is in English instead of German. That is confusing for the settings of all other plugins now in a foreign language.

    2. After the fix the locations of each city shows 1 City hall. Thats ok til that point. But, when clicking on it it now lists all 141 City Halls instead of 1 as it had been correctly before – please see screenshots above.

    3. As well did not get an answer how to use the location widget only with gd-pages. There is no select “only show with gd pages” like in the other widgets – Probably still missing or forgotten by developers for that widget.

Have a nice day and kind regards – Markus

    Hi Markus,

    1. Backend is in English now, which confuses me understanding the settings of plugins. Is it possible to switch it back into German?

From Edit Profile page i have turned user language to English for admin “makenginespain” so i can understand settings. I have set back to site default.

For 2) & 3) please update rest of GD plugins. I checked GD plugins versions and only GeoDirectory & GeoDirectory Multilingual are updated.
Plugin manager not showing update plugin message on your site, it looks liks something conficts.

Please update those rest of GD plugins and let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
    Kiran
