Alex, thank you so much.
At least I now know that it is the Theme and not me doing something wrong.I am not concerned at this point about sidebar position (left or right) but I am concerned about widgets not showing in a sidebar that I created.
Please note that widgets do show in default sidebars.
You may use right sidebar if you must have an answer to your question.Thanks so much Alex for the efforts.

In addition to the above, I wanted to show you the widget and the options available. please see attached. There are no option in the design to, lets say, hide Place Description, or the Social Links or the Star Rating.
The reason for all of this as a mentioned is that sidebars are limited in area and I would like to limit the information of a Place displayed in the sidebar ONLY.
I hope this make it clearere.
Thanks Kor, but overwriting a CPT template will not give me TWO different styling options, one for content area (with all bells and whistles) and the second for the sidebar (just image and title).

Thanks Alex, so do I need to set the location or the “Near: My Location” first and then go to the left most field “Search for” in order to limit the search results to Near My Location only?
The reason I ask is that once I pick a category from the drop down, the search engine starts without giving me the chance to enter any thing in the “Near” field.
