    Hi Paolo,

Thanks for the help. The elements I most want to remove are the login box and the edit this post box. The others can probably remain.

I’ll try to deduce it from what you’ve shared, but I’m not a coder. 🙁 If you’ve shared that particular bit of code with anyone I’d love to see it.

    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks to you both.

I had found that documentation on the layout. I was just confused on using the GD widgets on other “pages.” Perhaps it’s a question of terminology. I don’t think of a sidebar or footer as a “page.”

I will experiment and work with the features more. I’m sure there will be other questions.

    Thanks again.

Aha. Makes sense, now that you explain it.

One more: Adding widgets to pages? I’m familiar with adding widgets to sidebars, footers etc., but not to pages. Is there documentation explaining how to do what you mention above, adding the GD Search widget to other pages?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Paolo,

Simone took a look and fixed the syntax error for me. I reposted a new thread because I figured you probably weren’t checking this resolved thread.

As a side note, the error was showing on both my GeoDirectory homepage and the Avada draft pages. I only mentioned the Avada draft pages as a way of supplying you with more information that might be helpful.

    Thanks!

    Simone,

Ack. Sorry about that. Thanks for finding and fixing. I was going cross-eyed.

Code reminds me of that old saying, “For wont of a nail the kingdom was lost.”

    Thanks again!

I must have missed or added something.

I’m seeing style=””> appear on some of the draft Avada theme pages and <div class=”clearfix”></div> on others.

    Please advise!

    Thanks,
    Marsha

P.S. Should I have posted this as a new thread? Apologies if I goofed.

    Gentlemen,

Forgive me, but I’m not sure I did this correctly. I’m new at editing php and while it seems like a simple copy and paste, WordPress doesn’t want to refresh properly.

I copied the header.php from the core Avada theme to the child theme and renamed it header-copy.php. Then I attempted to edit it and renamed it header.php. I left the original child theme header file in there, now renamed header-orig.php.

But it doesn’t seem to work.

I will provide login details in a private reply.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

No. Supplying you with correct passwords. Plugins still will not update.

    Thanks, Paolo!

I realized late last night that many of my listings won’t have street addresses so I was worrying how I could do this. Dragging the marker on the map and setting the street address that way can work. Brilliant!

    Thanks, Guust.

I didn’t realize tags were primarily for users. It’s doubtful I’ll let users set tags, so that may be helpful.

Thanks for the links. I had found the first doc but not the second.

    Two more questions please:
-Can you list more than one subcategory?
-Is it possible to use longitude and latitude for CPTs instead of street address? Would the code need to be modified?

    Thanks for your help.
