Hi Tom,
Thanks for the file, i will take a look and let you know the best way forward.
If you require a child theme rather than a plugin, then yes, i can do that too. Usually it will be just enough styling to make everything look right, rather than a whole new design (like i did for Avada). I could of course deliver something completely bespoke – but that would of course be more expensive.
I’ll try and look at it this evening and let you know 🙂
Ah ok, i see you have the search set up in the sidebar. Try adding this to your child theme’s style.css
.geodir-search { margin-right: 0; } .geodir-content-right .geodir-search input, .geodir-content-left .geodir-search input, .geodir-content-right .geodir-search select, .geodir-content-left .geodir-search select, .geodir_custom_posts .geodir-content-right .geodir-search select { margin-left: 4%; margin-right: 4%; width: 92%; }

Hi @jaciando
You’re posting in the right place, so don’t worry 🙂
If you can supply a few details of what you are trying to achieve, either I or one of the other developers can take a look and give you an idea…
August 25, 2014 at 5:55 pm in reply to: Layout Problems with WordPress Theme "Simple Article" #13073Hi,
You are seeing that behaviour because the content output by the GD plugin is not within the HTML wrappers of that theme, so the correct styling is not being applied.
You can use hooks & filters to change the way GD content is output, so it uses the same HTML as your theme.You can see examples in one of the compatibility packs that have already been created > http://wordpress.org/search/geodirectory+compatibility+pack
If you get stuck, you could submit a request for your theme to have a pack developed. I also provide a paid service to build these if you need it quickly.
I am able to provide theme development/integration. There are also some themes already developed at http://wpgeothemes.com/
August 25, 2014 at 5:36 pm in reply to: I need help with GD installation & customization. Anybody? #13070Hi, and welcome 🙂
I can provide an installation service to get you up-and-running and also theme development if required.
You are also welcome to contact me on Skype if you would like to discuss your project in more detail, username is poshwebuk
You can view some of the themes i have already designed at http://wpgeothemes.com/
Hi,
You could use nth-of-type to distinguish eg:.geodir-company_info:nth-of-type(4) { background: #eee; }
Great…and glad you like the theme, thanks 🙂
Make sure you don’t have the Genesis layout default set to full-width. If it’s not that, please supply URL/details in a private reply and i will investigate firther for you 🙂
Hi manilaboy,
I am planning to do themes which would be a good fit for specific industries, but these will be more to do with presentation and widget areas, not adding functionality.
Hi,
1) I will take a look at the thumbs in listing view and see what is happening…
2) Do you have a URL i could look at to see what you mean, it’s fine on my demo…?
Also, the modern child theme css file seems to contain all of the styles for the theme which kinda defeats the object of the child theme? Shouldn’t the new updates been applied to the GDF and then a child theme created?
The idea of a child theme is to style or re-style elements that are present in the parent theme/framework (and plugins).
Styles in the parent GDF framework which do not need changing are left, but elements that need changing are included in the child theme. It would be unusual for styles to be changed in the parent (apart from bugs).Also Divi by Elegant themes
There are also 2 Genesis child themes and another GDF child theme 🙂
You can see the child themes at http://wpgeothemes.com/
