There is a switch in the Enfold theme for whether you want to display them or not.
Your idea of perfect must be different from mine? 😉
1. When you tabbed from the address the suburbs were still there in “Select City”?
2. After you typed in Mona Vale it showed “Mona Vale” as the city, or it showed “Select City”, as it did before you typed in Mona Vale?
3. If you wait a while and click on “Select City” AGAIN then YES! you can select Mona Vale this time. If on the other hand you press the down arrow to see a select list? -> you’re back to where you started, an empty city.
Perfect? NIMHO
Tried it with Firefox and IE.
OK, you use the mouse to move from field to field to fill in a form, I don’t do that, I use the tab key. Maybe the tab key needs to be disabled to use it???
This reply has been marked as private. This reply has been marked as private.I just tested an address that didn’t exist in one suburb and it mapped to the same street address in a different suburb – miles away!
I’m in Australia and for fun, I typed in 809 Southbridge Street, Auburn and pressed the set address button and it mapped to “Bridge Street , Ourimba” but kept the street address as 809 Southbridge Street.
Once I had typed in 809 Southbridge Street I couldn’t get the address field to update by moving the icon on the map either?
Seems if the Suburb and Postcode don’t match the Set Address button will produce unpredictable locations?
I deleted gd_gd_dining CPT, after deleting the listings I had created for it. I also chose the “delete” link above.
But unfortunately it has broken the WP menu and I can’t access the menu editor any more.
Values for gd_gd_dining were still left in “options”, “postmeta” and “term_taxonomy” tables.
Thanks Vikas, I just discovered that there is a filter for uppercase letters when creating a new CPT, but if there is an underscore in the name the View Posts Widget only displays the characters up to the underscore, which might cause problems. So you might want to have a look at that too?
Strange days indeed – I re-enabled my theme and now the droplist works properly!
Maybe my site needed an enema?
@semperteneo, as described above.
geodir-signup.php in your child theme/geodirectory folder
Add the two lines I have marked with //GWB between the other two lines I have shown above. i.e. straight after the first line of code in that file.
That will redirect users who aren’t logged in when they press on the GD add_listing, etc etc, links and redirect them from the GD login/register page to the TML login page.
Otherwise, just add your own TML login links wherever you want them so a user can login/register/logout/update profile.
The TML widget works nicely in a sidebar in place of the GD_login widget.
I switched to 2012 and it works properly, please mark this as resolved.
OK, must be specific to this site, I just tested with a default WP/GD/Enfold site and there ARE cities in the droplist.
I’ll fiddle and see what I have done to break it!
“if the city already exists in the database, the user can simply select it from the dropdown. ”
Read my post…there are NO cities in the drop down list for users to select!
Works here, sorry that’s not much help to you.
What version of Enfold, WP GD ?
Try it on a clean install of WP 3.9.1 with GD and Enfold enabled.
But it doesn’t work?
There is no city in the droplist.
When I press Enter is still says “Select a City”
They have to be bugs?
“The system looks through your saved locations first” – and does what? It certainly doesn’t display existing locations in the droplist?
If it needs to validate it can 1. use my existing cities (already validated) in a droplist, and/or 2. look up the “external database” when the user has entered a new city/location, and/or 3. validate the address when the user presses “Set Address on Map”
