Don’t worry about it Alex. Apparently we’re going to have to go thru each category and set the category Color as well..unless you have a quick way of accomplishing this as well….?

I had set Map Icons for all 750+ categories…it took me over a week to do this.
The only thing we did was upgrade from v1 to v2 and then keep updating the GD Plugins and themes. I can still see the map icons in my Media Gallery.
How did this happen? We can’t keep spending a week updating these images each time GD does an update.
And the only option available for Category Icons are some cartoon looking (I guess Google Font images) and it doesn’t allow us to use our own images. So I set the *Food category back to NONE and selected the FOOD Map Icon from my Media gallery and now that’s what’s showing up on the *Food category as you can see here: https://shoprva.com/places/united-states/virginia-1/richmond-city/food-1/juleps-new-southern-cuisine-2/ for Julep’s Southern Cuisine.
So what’s the fastest way we can reconnect these Map Icons to their respective categories without having to go thru them one by one, which will take over a week of our time…?

I’m totally confused now.
1. How did the icon go missing from the server if all we did was update Geodirectory plugins?
2. How do I export all of the categories and set a pin for all of them and then what’s next….? Please explain this.

Please forgive my ignorance for not fully understanding how this works with v2. When I first became a GD Subscriber some 3 to 5 years ago (v1) there was the option to include the Events feature with certain subscriptions and block from other subscriptions based on our (the website owner) preferences.
Now that we have v2, it seems that Places & Events cannot be linked to the same Subscription Plan…is this right?
If so, HOW do we allow a Subscriber/User to post both Places & Events under one Subscription? Do they need to register Twice (one for Places and one for Events) or can we configure the existing v2 to allow them to post to both Places & Events?
Please explain how this works and where to go configure this…?

Thank you for explaining how to do this. One other question related to this process…when the user registers and signs up for the free one year trial, are they required to enter in their PayPal payment email/info at the time of registration or will they do that once the free year is over…?

So we did check and confirm that we have it set to Miles and Feet but if you go to this listing here:
…and use this address to get directions on the Map: 733 Bishop Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96850 the map is still showing Kilometers and Meters instead of Miles & Feet.
Is there another setting that needs to be adjusted…?

One final question related to the maps….how do you update it to show Miles instead of Kilometers?
