How To Add Events To Place Packages…?

    Hi,

    How do we go about adding Events (posting capability) to each of the place packages?

    I’m not seeing the option in v2 to add the events in the Place Packages settings area like there used to be in v1. Please explain how we add the events to the place packages…?

    There isn’t an option for that built into GeoDirectory.

    We have seen some members accomplish it with 3rd party plugins like a membership plugin.

    The developers do plan to add a feature like this in the future but haven’t started work on it yet, and so we don’t recommend any particular plugin as a solution because we plan to offer an integrated solution.

    Ok, then how do we allow a user who has signed up for a Place Subscription / Package Plan to post events…?

    Hi Alex,

    Please forgive my ignorance for not fully understanding how this works with v2. When I first became a GD Subscriber some 3 to 5 years ago (v1) there was the option to include the Events feature with certain subscriptions and block from other subscriptions based on our (the website owner) preferences.

    Now that we have v2, it seems that Places & Events cannot be linked to the same Subscription Plan…is this right?

    If so, HOW do we allow a Subscriber/User to post both Places & Events under one Subscription? Do they need to register Twice (one for Places and one for Events) or can we configure the existing v2 to allow them to post to both Places & Events?

    Please explain how this works and where to go configure this…?

    That was not a feature of V1 and is not currently a feature of V2, to create packages that include more than one CPT.

    You can of course all anyone to post free and premium listings of any CPT.

    You can make a free package for events. Then visit the GD Navigation options and add a link to the Add Event page.

    I understand that this is not currently under development but it is a needed feature for developers like myself. I guess I have to move forward with a membership plugin to accomplish this task.
