Just an observation before i look into this, would you not be better instead of removing it and breaking a link on google, rather just show a message like ” No events in your location yet, why not add one CLICK HERE”

It will add the alt and title from the DB, it pulls the title from the table wp_geodir_attachments

Did u read my article? I prove the fact speed has nothing to do with the amount of plugins but the “type” of plugins and you have several “application type” plugins such as:
GD, BP, Job manager, which if you are on shared hosting will slow things down a bit.I have made some changes to the active plugins, the site now loads faster for logged out users but a bit slower for logged in users, i found that disabling “Post Slider WD” reduces the time for logged in users by about 50% but i think this is all just down to lack of server resources, as there are lots of slow queries that are slowing the site down alot. Are you just on basic shared hosting?

Where exactly on the front end do u want this to show? As i said most images are not img tags but background images of a div.

Would a link to a search page do, that is relatively simple and could order listings by proximity to the listing?

It in our plans to let users add their own titles and descriptions, we have already added the DB columns and most of the code to display it but not the code to input it.
Also in most places the images are shown as background images and give the title of the listing instead of an alt tag.
It depends how you would like to proceed but i can give you snippets of how you can edit things if you wish.

The first thing i notice is you have 50 active plugins and a few are application type plugins.
Do you need all these? The first thing to do before caching is to make the site as fast as we can without it.What hosting do you have?
