I swapped out GD for latest ver and it worked when i visited a event url, so i don’t know how to replicate this, please provide instructions.

I can’t seem to find what is wrong, do you have a dev site you can try to replicate this on, try each step and see what causes it?

You can replace this file in core: https://github.com/GeoDirectory/geodirectory/blob/master/geodirectory-functions/shortcode_functions.php
Or if you provide wp-admin we will do it for you.

I have tested this and it seems to work ok for me, can you provide wp-admin and i will test on your server.
