+1 for shortcodes and new template hooks/filters documentation to understand how to adapt to any theme and overall documentation
Look forward to the updates +1 for setting permalinks as Johns suggestion, going that many levels deep is not SEO friendly
Also any reason why the state is ouput before the town/city..it should be Chicago Illinois …London, England etc it doesn’t make sense the other way round
Geolocation..can this be set to default landing location as defined in GD..e.g I set default as London so any users have to land on this page..my primary page..this is how geolocation works in mostly all other directories
It needs to stay on default page if no listings in user country IP
If mu user is from Australia I want them to see a default city at all times not the closest city to them Until after they land on the site . Why? If I’m promoting London hotels globally its no good if a visitor from AU gets sent off page as there’s no listings in AU
See Atlas, Templatic etc
Sure you have this covered 🙂
…now if it would just play nicely in the new release Genesis all will be good
+1 for shortcodes for every widget so its not required to create new sidebars to use the plugin in addition to the theme functions it’s activated on
Ability to create own pages and customise content for GD – probably resolved by above or detailed documentation on how to customise the GD plugin files to do this
Browse All Listings and Show All Listings option
Use GD without Map Content e.g. replace with slider or Image or user defined content but still see listings information. Can’t see a way to do this
Show nearby listings/places based on GeoLocation
GD acts as a plugin and doesn’t “overide” the theme’s functions. Not sure how best to describe this, but at the moment most WP themes I have tried GD on no longer allow use of the actual theme..e.g. menus, existing sidebar widgets. This is the case with all Studiopress Genesis themes – as already mentioned on the forum.
WP Theme Styling to overide/take priority over the plugin styling. Appreciate this wont be 100% but as far as possible would be great – at the moment WP Theme styling remains for headers, menu’s and footers but any GD listings look the same as the demo. Not sure if there’s some default CSS parameters that could be added to each themes CSS?
Cheers
+1 for Genesis – or at least the Studiopress released Pro themes.
It sort of works on Genesis but would require hiring a developer to be compatible.
Which Genesis child themes did you test it as per this comment, and can you share what modifications you made to Genesis themes to get it working – thanks
We have tested it with 2012, Genesis and various of its child themes, Sahifa, Buddyboss and basically any theme which is compatible with bbpress, buddyrpess or woocommerce seems to be compatible with GD too.
